Technical Notes 2023, Issue 172 - Further Update on RAAC discovery in Bearsden Hub

  1. In Technical Notes 165 and 168 issued last week, we advised Members of the discovery of reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) in Bearsden Hub during the survey work we were undertaking to establish if it was present in facilities across the Council estate.
     
  2. The further and more intrusive investigative works have been carried out to establish the extent of RAAC usage in the building fabric and to understand the remedial works required.
     

Technical Notes 2023, Issue 170 - HR Appeals Board – 31 October 2023

  1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to update Members in relation to the HR Appeals Board (HRAB) meeting scheduled for 31 October 2023.  
  2. Members are advised that there is no business for this meeting of the HRAB to consider. 
  3. A cancellation notice will be issued and the meeting removed from Members diaries.
  4. The next scheduled meeting of the HRAB is 10am on 28 November 2023, which will proceed subject to business.

Technical Notes 2023, Issue 167 - Roads & Environment 2023/24 Carriageway and Footway Resurfacing Programme (quarter 2 update)

  1. The purpose of the Technical Note is to provide Members with an update on the 2023/24 Roads & Environment Carriageway and Footway Resurfacing Programme.
  2. The Technical Note highlights the work programmes associated with internal and external resources as well as providing an indication to when this work is programmed to be undertaken.

Technical Notes 2023, Issue 166 - Westerton Primary School Engagement Update

  1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to provide a further update on detailed arrangements for the forthcoming stakeholder engagement sessions to support the on-going feasibility review considering the replacement of Westerton Primary School.
  2. As outlined in TN-156-23 Westerton PS Stakeholder Engagement, officers propose to undertake two public engagement events which will provide the local community with information on the project and discuss the ongoing options appraisal and feasibility process for the school.

Technical Notes 2023, Issue 168 - Update on Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) Structural Survey at Bearsden Hub

  1. Further to Technical Note 165 issued on 5 October, we advised Members our structural engineering consultants have confirmed the presence of RAAC within the rear section of Bearsden Hub.
  2. Further and more intrusive investigative works are now underway to establish the extent RAAC usage in the original building fabric and to understand if any remedial works are required and the extent of those. Officers now expect to be able to provide a full update on this to Members by the end of the week commencing 9th October.

Technical Notes 2023, Issue 164 - Allander Leisure Centre – Car Parking Update

  1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to provide an update on recent changes to the car parking arrangements at the Allander Leisure Centre.
     
  2. On Tuesday 19th September, a further phase of completed car parking was released for use by customers of the Allander, comprising in total of 118 spaces including general parking, Parent & Child and accessible parking bays.  Added to the 20 bays available on the West boundary of the car park now provides a total of 138 spaces.
