Technical Notes 2023, Issue 136 - Policy & Resources Sub-Committee – 5th September 2023 : 3.00pm

1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to update Members in relation to arrangements for a meeting of the Policy & Resources Sub-Committee on 5th September 2023.

2. There is business which falls to be determined by the Policy & Resources Sub-Committee.  Following consultation with the Convener, a meeting has been scheduled for 5th September 2023 at 3pm.  This will be a fully virtual meeting.

Technical Notes 2023, Issue 135 - External Wall Insulation Programme (EES:ABS) – Public Meeting

  1. Following the issue of Technical Note no. 127-23, which provided Members with information of the Council’s forthcoming External Wall Insulation (EWI) programme, Members should note that all Council tenants and homeowners within the catchment areas in Bearsden have been invited to a public meeting. The meeting will take place within Bearsden Academy on Thursday 24th August with a 7pm start. At the meeting, further information will be provided on the project.
     

Technical Notes 2023, Issue 134 - Defibrillator Project

  1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to provide Members with an update on progress on the installation defibrillators across the Council’s Education and Operational Estate following a recent Council decision.
     
  2. A total of 64 HeartSine 360P fully automatic defibrillators have been procured which will be installed both internally and externally across the Council’s portfolio. 
     

Technical Notes 2023, Issue 132 - Re-routing of John Muir Way, near existing weir at Glazert Water, Lennoxtown, due to riverbank erosion

1. The purpose of the Technical Note is to provide Members with an update on the 2023/24 Project to reroute a section of the John Muir Way near existing weir at Glazert Water, Lennoxtown, due to riverbank erosion.

2. The Technical Note highlights the work associated with re-routing of the path known as the John Muir Way is being undertaken as a result of erosion to the left back of the Glazert Water upstream of the existing weir in Lennoxtown.

Technical Notes 2023, Issue 131 - Special Audit & Risk Management Committee – 31st August 2023 : 4.30pm

1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to update Members in relation to arrangements for a special meeting of the Audit & Risk Management Committee on 31st August 2023.  

2. Members will recall that in approving the diary of meetings for 2023-24, authority was delegate to the Chief Solicitor & Monitoring Officer to set a date for a special Audit & Risk Management Committee to approve the annual accounts.  Ideally, this should take place this month given the wider timeline.

Technical Notes 2023, Issue 133 - Westerton Park Ground Gas Monitoring

  1. The purpose of this technical note is to update members on pre-construction site investigations undertaken over the course of the Summer holidays at Westerton Park and to provide clarification on the continuing presence of ground gas monitoring, which was omitted from the previous Technical Note.
     
  2. Surveys successfully completed to date include Ecology, Topographical, Ground Penetration, Trial Pit and Bore Holes to establish ground conditions, non-intrusive archaeology and CCTV drainage.
     

Technical Notes 2023, Issue 127 - External Wall Insulation Programme Energy Efficient Scotland:Area Based Schemes (“EES:ABS”)

The purpose of this Technical Note is to provide members with an overview of the Council’s forthcoming External Wall Insulation (“EWI”) programme.

The Council have been successful in securing £923,200 in funding to support the installation of EWI as part of the Scottish Government’s EES:ABS Scheme for 2023-2024.
