Technical Notes 2024, Issue 51 - School Meals – Revised Menu

  1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to inform Members of the implementation of a revised school lunch menu effective from Monday, 29th April 2024. Menu changes allow opportunities to incorporate fresh; locally sourced; and seasonal produce and provides a variety of food choices.
  2. The current school lunch menu has been in place since August 2023 and runs over a three-week cycle.

Technical Notes 2024, Issue 50 - SSI 2024/24 The Local Governance (Scotland) Act 2004 (Remuneration) Amendment Regulations 2024

1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to update Members in relation to the Local Governance (Scotland) Act 2004 (Remuneration) Amendment Regulations 2024 which come into effect from 1st April 2024.  

2. Members are advised that Scottish Ministers have, via a Scottish Statutory Instrument, approved an increase in remuneration for Scottish Councillors amounting to an uplift of 6.20%. 

Technical Notes 2024, Issue 49 - Changes to Rent Cap and Evictions from 1 April 2024

1. The purpose of this technical note is to update Members on the temporary modifications to the law in relation to rent controls and evictions. The Cost of Living (Tenant Protection) Act 2022 (the “2022 Act”) came into force on 28 October 2022 and introduced a rent cap for residential tenancies and protection against eviction from residential properties.

2. The provisions will expire at the end of 31 March 2024. The final date is built into the legislation and cannot be extended further.

Technical Notes 2024, Issue 48 - Twechar Canalside – Ground Investigation

  1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to advise Members of forthcoming Ground Investigation surveys at the Canalside development site, Twechar.
     
  2. To help inform the design of proposals for an Outdoor Pursuits Centre and Affordable Housing development on the site final Ground Investigation surveys are provisionally due to take place between Monday 25th March and Friday 29th March.  
     

Technical Notes 2024, Issue 47- Temporary Closure of Lenzie Library

  1. The purpose of this technical note is to advise Members of the temporary closure of Lenzie library, to allow for essential maintenance and repairs to be carried out. 
     
  2. The property at 13/15 Alexandra Avenue, Lenzie, which forms Lenzie library, is leased to the Trust.  As a condition of the lease East Dunbartonshire Council is required to maintain the property.  A recent inspection has identified a number of items for repair, including external and internal works.

Technical Notes 2024, Issue 41 - HR Appeals Board – 26 March 2024

  1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to update Members in relation to the HR Appeals Board (HRAB) meeting scheduled for 26 March 2024.
  2. Members are advised that there is no business for this meeting of the HRAB to consider. 
  3. A cancellation notice will be issued, and the meeting removed from Members diaries.
  4. The next scheduled meeting of the HRAB is 10am on 28 May 2024, which will proceed subject to business.
