Details: 

1. The purpose of this technical note is to advise Members on the play area refurbishment programme being undertaken across the various localities.

2. The programme involves the refurbishment of eleven sites as noted below:

  • Springfield Park, Bishopbriggs
  • Bishopbriggs Public Park
  • Taig Road Waterside
  • Luggie Park, Kirkintiloch
  • Eastside, Kirkintilloch
  • Douglaston North, Milngavie
  • Keystone, Milngavie
  • Main Street, Torrance
  • King George V - Bearsden
  • Scott Avenue, Milton of Campsie
  • Kincaid Park, Milton of Campsie

3. The works will vary from site to site with a combination of a full refurbishment to some sites, individual item replacement to others with a surface relay at one other location.

4. The works are predominantly funded via combination of East Dunbartonshire Capital funding and the fund from the Scottish Government which specifically will provide a total of £500,000 over this financial year and next.

5. The appropriate consultation and engagement is underway and will continue throughout this year and next to ensure communities are involved in the selection process.

6. In terms of timescales it is anticipated that a number will commence and be  complete within the current financial year with others progressing into 24/25 for completion.

7. Relevant specific information will be shared with Elected Members and other stakeholders as the projects are developed and delivered as noted above.
