Technical Notes 2021, Issue 73 - Proposed Booking System solution for Mavis Valley Household Waste and Recycling Centre (HWRC)

The purpose of this technical note is to provide Members with an update in relation to the proposed booking solution at Mavis Valley HWRC.

System development has now commenced to introduce a booking system for Mavis Valley HWRC to:

  • Reduce traffic congestion and waiting times
  • Manage visitor numbers and maintain on-site social distancing.

Residents within East Dunbartonshire will be provided with a method to book a free appointment at the Mavis Valley site via a booking form accessed from the East Dunbartonshire Council website.

Technical Notes 2021, Issue 72 - Annual Performance Review – Information relating to missed bins for the period 2020/21

This technical note follows a request for further information regarding the breakdown of  missed waste collections as highlighted by the Customer Services Annual Performance Overview 2020/21 EPB/023/21/NMcN at the recent Council meeting on 17th June 2021. 

In order to establish an accurate figure, in the total bins set out for the year, there is a requirement to take into consideration service suspensions through the pandemic, and used set out/participation rates per service, rather than how many properties the service requires to visit per route. 

Technical Notes 2021, Issue 69 - 2020/21- Unaudited Accounts Mugdock Country Park Joint Management Committee

The purpose of this Technical Note is advise Members of the Mugdock Park Joint Management Committee that the Audited Accounts for the finance year 2020/21 are due to be passed to Audit Scotland by the end of June so that they may finalise their audit over the summer months.

Technical Notes 2021, Issue 68 - Marketing of Kelvinbank Resource Centre, Kirkintilloch.

Following a successful procurement exercise, Gerald Eve have been appointed to lead on the marketing of Kelvinbank Resource Centre, Kirkintilloch. The site will be surplus to requirements later in 2022 once the new Allander Leisure and Day Care Centre is completed. Gerald Eve have vast experience in successfully marketing and disposing large development opportunities for their clients.

Technical Notes 2021, Issue 10 - Temporary Closure of Mavis Valley Household Waste Recycling Centre

The purpose of this technical note is to advise Elected Members of the temporary requirement to close the Mavis Valley Household Waste recycling centre today. This followed a road traffic incident approximately 50 yards from the entrance to the facility on Balmuildy Road. Traffic Management was in operation however a car pulled out of queueing traffic into the path of another vehicle, leading to a rear end collision.

Technical Note 2021, Issue 66 - Decant of Milngavie Early Years Centre and Gartconner Early Years Centre over Summer 2021

  1. The purpose of this technical note is to inform Elected Members on proposed works to Milngavie Early Years Centre and Gartconner Early Years Centre over the summer period.  
  2. Assets have planned works for Milngavie Early Years Centre to take place on from 5th to 30th July 2021. Centre staff and children will move to Oakburn Early Years Centre during this time. The new Oakburn centre has capacity to take all children from Milngavie. To aid effective transition, children will remain with their key worker in this new location.
