THE EAST DUNBARTONSHIRE COUNCIL
(A807 Auchenhowie Road, Balmore Road and Torrance Road)
Proposed 30 MPH speed Limit
The East Dunbartonshire Council propose to consider the introduction of a 30mph speed limit on the A807 (Auchenhowie Road, Balmore Road, and Torrance Road), the lengths of which are described in the Schedule below.
Full details of this proposal, which forms the proposed THE EAST DUNBARTONSHIRE COUNCIL (A807 AUCHENHOWIE ROAD, BALMORE ROAD AND TORRANCE ROAD) (30 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER, together with plans and a statement of reasons for proposing to make this Order, are available for inspection without payment of fee in the Roads section of the East Dunbartonshire Council website. Lengths of Road in East Dunbartonshire
- A807 Auchenhowie Road, Milngavie
That length of the A807, Auchenhowie Road from the centreline of Allander Toll roundabout north-westwards to a point 357 metres southeast of the southeast kerbline of Finlay Rise.
- A807 Balmore Road
That length of the A807, Balmore Road from the centreline of Allander Toll roundabout north-eastwards to a point 590 metres west of the extended west kerbline of Station Road.
- That length of the A807, Balmore Road from a point 73 metres east of the extended west kerbline of the east access to the New Branziet Cottages eastwards to a point 15 metres east of the east kerbline of the access to West Acredyke Cottages.
- That length of the A807 Balmore Road from a point 50 metres east of the centreline of Old Balmore Road at its east junction with the A807, Balmore Road, eastwards to a point 100 metres west of the centreline of Kelvinbridge Roundabout.
- A807 Torrance Road
That length of the A807 Torrance Road from a point 192 metres southeast of the centreline of Kelvinbridge roundabout south-eastwards then southwards to a point 31 metres north of the centreline of Torrance roundabout.
- B8049 Boclair Road
That length of the B8049 Boclair Road from the centreline of Allander Toll roundabout south-westwards for a distance of 55 metres.
- A879 Balmore Road
That length of the A879 Balmore Road from the centreline of Allander Toll roundabout south-eastwards for a distance of 56 metres.

30 MPH Speed Limit Order 20XX
The East Dunbartonshire Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Constable of the Police Service of Scotland in accordance with Part III and IV of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following Order.
- This Order may be cited as “The East Dunbartonshire Council (A807 Auchenhowie Road, Balmore Road, and Torrance Road) (30 mph Speed Limit) Order 20XX” and shall come into operation on XXXX.
- In this Order the following expressions have the meanings hereby assigned to them:-
“vehicle” unless the context otherwise requires, means a vehicle of any description and includes a machine or implement of any kind drawn or propelled along roads, whether or not by mechanical power;
- No person shall drive any vehicle at a speed exceeding 30 mph on the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 to this Order
- The Orders specified in Schedule 2 to this Order shall have effect subject to the amendments specified in that Schedule.

Statement of Reasons for Proposing to Make the Above Order
It is considered necessary to make the above order to reduce vehicle speeds in the interests of improving road safety, especially for some of the most vulnerable road users (i.e., those walking, wheeling and cycling). This order is associated with the A807 Active Travel Corridor project.
