  • Duration: from 11am on Monday 20 April 2026 until 6pm on Friday 1 May 2026
  • Notes: All vehicles prohibited except emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works. Alternative routes will be by of Meadowburn, Yarrow Road, and Teviot Avenue, Bishopbriggs, and these routes will be sign posted. 

  • Reason for emergency works: SPEN is presently carrying out emergency repairs to a fault

  • Road affected: Redbrae Road near its junction with Kenilworth Road, Kirkintilloch
  • Duration: 9 April 2026. These works are expected to be in place for approximately two weeks 
  • Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, Kenilworth Road is closed at its junction with Redbrae Road and temporary five-way traffic signals are being used to control traffic movements at Waverley Park Roundabout. The temporary traffic signals are being manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.

  • Reason for closure: East Dunbartonshire Council Roads Service is to carry out carriageway footway resurfacing works 
  • Town: Bearsden
  • Road affected: Inveroran Drive between its junctions with Glendaruel Avenue and Durness Avenue
  • Duration: from 6am on Monday 1 June 2026 until 11.59pm on Monday 29 June 2026
  • Notes: All classes of vehicle prohibited except vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works. Alternative routes will be by of Glendaruel Avenue, Rannoch Drive, Tyndrum Road, and Durness Avenue, Bearsden, and these routes will be sign posted. The temporary road closure will  be carried out in various phases.

  • Reason for closure: To assist with East Dunbartonshire Council footway resurfacing works on a section of the A81 Milngavie Road

  • Road affected: West Chapelton Avenue and West Chapelton Drive from its junctions with the A81 Milngavie Road westwards for a distance of 20 metres or thereby

  • Duration: from 10am until 3.45pm on Sunday 26 April 2026
  • Notes: The alternative routes for vehicles are by way of Balmuildy Road, Hilton Road, the A803 Kirkintilloch Road, the A807 Torrance Road, the A807 Balmore Road, the A879 Balmore Road, and these routes will be sign posted. Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the event activities and those vehicles that require access to properties or land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the event.

  • Road affected: Kenmure Avenue between its junctions with Pollok Drive and St Mary’s Road
  • Duration: 6am on Monday 27 April 2026 until 6pm on Friday 8 May 2026
  • Notes: Alternative routes will be by way of Pollok Drive, Beaufort Gardens and St Mary’s Road, Bishopbriggs, and these routes will be sign posted. Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

  • Reason for closure: Council Roads Service is to carry out carriageway resurfacing works
  • Road affected: A803 Kirkintilloch Road, Bishopbriggs, between its junction with Cadder Roundabout at the B819 Crosshill Road and Westerhill Road, Bishopbriggs
  • Duration: from 6am on Sunday 10 May 2026 until 11.59pm on Sunday 17 May 2026
  • Notes: 

    Alternative routes will be by way of the A803 Kirkintilloch Road, the A807 Torrance Road and Balmore Road, the A879 Balmore Road, Balmuildy Road and Hilton Road, Bishopbriggs, and these routes will be sign posted. Internal local diversion routes will also be sign posted.

  • Reason for road closure: Council Roads Service is to carry out repairs to existing carriageway surface
  • Town: Kirkintilloch
  • Road affected: Burnbrae Road, near Kirkintilloch between its junction with Calfmuir Road and B819 Lindsaybeg Road near Lenzie
  • Duration: 6am on on Thursday 30 April 2026 until 6pm on 
    Monday 4 May 2026
  • Notes: All (except vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works). 
    Alternative routes are by of Muckcroft Road, Auchengeich Road, Gartferry Road, Main Street, Chryston, the B819 Lindsaybeg Road, the A806 Initiative Road, Menzies Drive, and Calfmuir Road, Kirkintilloch, and these routes will be sign posted.

  • Reason for closure: Contractor carrying out various groundworks including the formation of a new access. These works are associated with the new Cala Housing Development presently under construction. There are also repairs being carried out on the existing former railway bridge on Chryston Road, due to corrosion discovered during the site investigation
  • Road affected: Chryston Road, Fauldhead, at a location to the east of its junction with Market Road, Kirkintilloch
  • Duration: 11.59pm on Wednesday 17 September 2025 until 11.59 pm on Friday 17 April 2026
  •  Notes: In oder to prevent danger to the public arising from damage to the structural integrity of the bridge over the former railway bridge and for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, East Dunbartonshire Council will require to extend the existing temporary road closure on Chryston Road Fauldhead, between its junctions with Market Road, Kirkintilloch, and Sauchenhall Road/Muckcroft Road from 6pm on Sunday 22 September 2024 until 6pm on Friday 31 March 2025
    Alternative routes are be by of Sauchenhall Road, Gartshore Road, Mollins Road, the B8048 Waterside Road, Market Road, Kirkintilloch, Calfmuir Road, and Muckcroft Road, and these routes are presently being sign posted
    Access to the closed section of road is presently only maintained for vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent the closed section of road. There is no access through the closed section of road for emergency service vehicles

  • Road affected: B757 Milton Road, Kirkintilloch, between its junction with the A803 Kilsyth Road/Glasgow Road, Kirkintilloch, and the bridge over the River Kelvin, Kirkintilloch
  • Duration: 6am on Sunday 17 May 2026 until 11.59pm on Sunday 24 May 2026

    Alternative routes are by way of Loch Road, the B8048 Waterside Road, the A806 Initiative Road, Kirkintilloch and MacGavigans Road, Lenzie, and these routes will be sign posted.

  • Road affected: Andrew Avenue between both of its junctions with Anne Crescent and Charles Crescent.
  • Duration: from 6am on Tuesday 21 April 2026 until 6pm on Thursday 23 April 2026
  • Notes: Alternative routes will be by of Charles Crescent and Anne Crescent, Lenzie, and these routes will be sign posted.

  • Road affected: Auchinloch Road and Kirkintilloch Road between its junction with Millersneuk Road and its junction with the vehicular access road to Lenzie Railway Station

    Monday 4 May 2026
  • Notes: Alternative routes will be by way of the B757 Kirkintilloch Road, Garngaber Avenue, Woodilee Road, the A806 Initiative Road, the B819 Lindsaybeg Road, and the B757 Auchinloch Road, Lenzie, and these routes will be sign posted. All classes of vehicle are prohibited except vehicles engaged in the works.

  • Notes: Alternative routes will be by way of the B757 Kirkintilloch Road, Gallowhill Road, Boghead Road, the B819 Crosshill Road, the B757 Auchinloch Road, the B819 Lindsaybeg Road, the A806 Initiative Road, Woodilee Road and Garngaber Avenue, Lenzie, and these routes will be sign posted.   • Road affected: Nethermains Road between its junction with Main Street and its junction with Braefoot Avenue
  • Duration: From 8am until 6pm on Thursday 23 April 2026.
  • Notes: Alternative routes will be by of Main Street, Keystone Quadrant, and Braefoot Avenue, Milngavie, and these routes will be sign posted.   

    Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

  • Town: Between Torrance and Lennoxtown
  • Road affected: B822 Campsie Road between its junction with the A891 Campsie Road, Lennoxtown and its junction with the extended southwest kerbline of Campsie Road, which leads to Kirkintilloch
  • Duration: from 6am on Sunday 19 April 2026 until 8pm on Thursday 23 April 2026
  • Notes: All vehicles prohibited except emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works. The alternative routes will be by way of the A891 Campsie Road, Lennoxtown and Milton of Campsie, the B757 Birdston Road, Milton of Campsie, and Milton Road, Kirkintilloch, the A803 Glasgow Road and Kirkintilloch Road, Kirkintilloch, the A807 Torrance Road, the B822 Main Street and Campsie Road, Torrance, and these routes will be sign posted.

Scheduled temporary traffic management

  • Reason for traffic management: SPEN is to carry out cabling works on sections of the A810 Duntocher Road
  • Town: Bearsden
  • Road affected: A810 Duntocher Road, Bearsden, between its junctions with the B8050 Baljaffray Road and Ledi Drive/Nithsdale Crescent
  • Duration: from 8pm until 6am, each night/morning, on Monday 11 May 2026 for approximately two weeks. 
  • Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, rolling two, three and four way, temporary traffic signals incorporating pedestrian crossing facilities as required, will be used to control traffic movements on section of Duntocher Road, Bearsden, between its junctions with the B8050 Baljaffray Road and Ledi Drive/Nithsdale Crescent, Bearsden.

    The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at all times.  The use of temporary traffic signals may result in delays to traffic in the area.

     

  • Reason for traffic management: Scottish Water is to carry out repairs to damaged ironwork
  • Town: Bearsden
  • Road affected: A809 Drymen Road at its junction with Thorn Drive, Bearsden
  • Duration: from 9.30am on Sunday 26 April 2026 until 7am on Monday 27 April 2026.
  • Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, the existing traffic signals at Bearsden Cross will require to be switched off and temporary five way traffic signals incorporating pedestrian crossing facilities will be used to control traffic movements. The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.  

  • Reason for traffic management: Virgin Media is to carry out cabling works
  • Town: Bearsden
  • Road affected: A809 Drymen Road near its junction with Colquhoun Drive, Bearsden
  • Duration: from 9am until 6pm on Sunday 10 May 2026
  • Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary two way traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements. The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at all times.

  • Duration: from 9.30am on Monday 30 March 2026 for approximately three weeks
  • Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, rolling temporary four way traffic signals incorporating pedestrian crossing facilities as required and also temporary lane closures will be used to control traffic movements on Milngavie Road, between its junctions with West Chapelton Avenue and Roman Drive/Boclair Road.

  • Reason for traffic management: Scottish Water is to carry out repairs to damaged ironwork

  • Road affected: Roman Road near its junction with Grange Road, Bearsden
  • Duration: from 9.30am until 6pm on Wednesday 6 May 2026
  • Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary three way traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements. The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at all times.

  • Reason for traffic management: SGN is to carry out gas main replacement works 
  • Town: Kirkintilloch
  • Road affected: Milton Road between the vehicular access to Lidl and the A803 Kilsyth Road/Glasgow Road/Ledgate
  • Duration: from 9.30am on Monday 27 April 2026 until 6pm on Friday 15 May 2026
  • Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, the existing traffic signals/pedestrian crossing facility will require to be switched off and temporary six way traffic signals incorporating pedestrian crossing facilities will be used to control traffic movements on Milton Road at its junction with the A803 Kilsyth Road/Glasgow Road, MacDonalds, Lidl and the vehicular access to the Indian Cottage. The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.

  • Reason for traffic management:  Virgin Media is to carry out cabling works

  • Road affected: B8048 Waterside Road near its junction with Kirksyde Avenue
  • Duration: from 9.30am on Monday 18 May 2026 for approximately five days
  • Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, the existing pedestrian crossing facility will require to be switched off and temporary four way traffic signals incorporating pedestrian crossing facilities will be used to control traffic movements on Waterside Road at its junctions with Kirksyde Avenue and Holmfield, Kirkintilloch. 
    The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.  The use of temporary traffic signals may result in delays to traffic in the area.

  • Reason for traffic management: East Dunbartonshire Council Regeneration Team is to carry out road improvement works 
  • Town: Lennoxtown
  • Road affected: A891 between its junctions with the B822 Crosshill Street and School Lane
  • Duration: from Tuesday 6 January for approx 6 months
  • Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, rolling temporary traffic signals incorporating temporary pedestrian crossing facilities as required will be used to control traffic movements.
    The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.  The use of temporary traffic signals may result in delays to traffic in the area.
