  • Reason for emergency works: Scottish Water is presently carrying out emergency repairs to burst water main
  • Town: Lenzie
  • Road affected: Gallowhill Road at its junctions with Beech Road, Lenzie
  • Duration: These works started on Monday 17 August and are expected to be in place until the end of the week
  • Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary three way smart traffic signals are being used to control traffic movements on Gallowhill Road at its junctions with Beech Road, Lenzie.

  • Reason for closure: East Dunbartonshire Council new power supply works for new 20mph poles
  • Town: Bearsden 
  • Road affected: Henderland Road between its junction with the northbound carriageway of the A739 Switchback Road and its junction with the most southern vehicular access to Kinellan Road
  • Duration: from 6am on Monday 31 August 2026 until 11.59pm on

  • Notes: Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

  • Reason for closure: East Dunbartonshire Council Roads Service is to carry out footway resurfacing works
  • Town: Bearsden
  • Road affected: Roman Road, between its junctions with Douglas Place and Roman Drive
  • Duration: from 6am on Monday 3 August 2026 until 11.59pm on Monday 7 September 2026
  • Notes: Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.   • Road affected: The most Southern Unnamed Access Road between its junction with the A739 Switchback Road (Northbound) and its junction with Switchback Service Road

  • Road affected: Balmuildy Road, Bishopbriggs, between the vehicular access road to Mavis Valley Recycling Centre and the vehicular exit road to Hilton Depot, Bishopbriggs
  • Duration: From 6am on Monday 21 September 2026 until 11.59pm on Monday 28 September 2026
  • Notes: Alternative routes will be by way of Balmuildy Road, Hilton Road, the A803 Kirkintilloch Road, Bishopbriggs, the A807 Torrance Road and Balmore Road and the A879 Balmore Road and these routes will be sign posted.  
    Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

     

  • Reason for closure: To allow a Contractor to cut back trees 
  • Town: Bishopbriggs
  • Road affected: Cole Road between its junction with the A803 Kirkintilloch Road at Torrance Roundabout, its junction with the B819 Crosshill Road at the roundabout
  • Duration: From 9.30am until 3.30pm, each day, from Friday 28 August 2026 until Sunday 30 August 2026.
  • Notes:  Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

    Alternative routes will be by way of the A803 Kirkintilloch Road and the B819 Crosshill Road, Bishopbriggs, and these routes will be sign posted. 

  • Reason for closure: To carry out various works associated with the upgrade works at Torrance Roundabout
  • Road affected: Cole Road, Bishopbriggs, between its junctions with the B819 Crosshill Road at the roundabout and the A803 Kirkintilloch Road at Torrance Roundabout
  • Duration: 12.01am on Friday 2 October 2026 until 11.59pm on Thursday 3 December 2026
  • Notes:  Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works. Their will be no access through the closure points for emergency service vehicles.

    Alternative routes will be by way of the A803 Kirkintilloch Road and the B819 Crosshill Road, Bishopbriggs, and these routes will be sign posted.

  • Reason for road closure: EDC Roads Service is to carry out carriageway resurfacing works
  • Town: Fauldhead
  • Road affected: Chryston Road between its junctions with Market Road, Blairhill Avenue and the existing railway bridge which supports the Glasgow to Edinburgh railway line
  • Duration: 6am on Monday 7 September 2026 until 11.59pm on Sunday 13 September 2026.
  • Notes:Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

    Alternative routes, will be by way of Sauchenhall Road, Gartshore Road, Mollins Road, the B8048 Waterside Road, Market Road, Kirkintilloch, Calfmuir Road, and Muckcroft Road, and these routes will be sign posted.

  • Reason for road closure: EDC Roads Service is to carry out carriageway resurfacing works 
  • Town: Kirkintilloch
  • Road affected: A806 Initiative Road, Kirkintilloch, between its junctions with the B8048 Waterside Road/Parliament Road at the existing roundabout and its junction with McGavigans Road at the existing roundabout, Kirkintilloch
  • Duration: 6am on Sunday 13 September 2026 until 11.59pm on Sunday 20 September 2026
  • Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, East Dunbartonshire Council will require to close Initiative Road, Kirkintilloch, between its junctions with  B8048 Waterside Road/Parliament Road at the existing roundabout and its junction with McGavigans Road at the existing roundabout, Kirkintilloch.
    The alternative routes are by way of Parliament Road, Townhead, the B757 Lenzie Road, Kirkintilloch, Gallowhill Road, Boghead Road, the B819 Crosshill Road, the B757 Auchinloch Road and the B819 Lindsaybeg Road, Lenzie, and these routes will be sign posted.

  • Reason for road closure: East Dunbartonshire Roads Service is to carry out carriageway resurfacing works
  • Town: Kirkintilloch
  • Road affected: Burnbrae Road, between its junctions with Calfmuir Road, near Kirkintilloch and the existing bridge over the burn 
  • Duration: 6am on Sunday 27 September 2026 until 11.59 on Sunday 4 October 2026
  • Notes: Alternative routes are by of Muckcroft Road, Auchengeich Road, Gartferry Road, Main Street, Chryston, the B819 Lindsaybeg Road, the A806 Initiative Road, Menzies Drive, and Calfmuir Road, Kirkintilloch, and these routes will be sign posted. 

    Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

  • Town: Kirkintilloch
  • Roads affected:
    • Cowgate and West High Street, between their respective junctions with Catherine Street/Kerr Street and Achill Place
    • Union Street, between its junctions with Cowgate and York Place
    • A section of David Donnelly Place, from its junction with Cowgate, northeastwards for a distance of 30 metres or thereby
    • Broadcroft, between its junctions with Cowgate and David Donnelly Place
  • Duration: from 00.01am on Friday 21 August 2026 until 6am on Monday 24 August 2026
  • Notes:
    • Cowgate and West High Street - Alternative routes for vehicles are by way of Catherine Street, Cowgate, Townhead, Parliament Road, the A806 New Lairdsland Road, the A803 Glasgow Road, and West High Street, and these routes will be sign posted
    • Union Street - Alternative routes will be sign posted by way of Kerr Street, Oxford Street, Union Street and Washington Road, and these routes will be sign posted
    • David Donnelly Place - There are no alternative routes available
    • Broadcroft - There are no alternative routes available. Access to the closed sections of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the event activities.

  • Reason for closures: Carriageway resurfacing works 
  • Town: Lennoxtown
  • Roads affected: Benvue Road, Lennoxtown, from its junction with the A891 Main Street, Lennoxtown, over its entire length to its termination at the existing turning head facilities
  • Duration: 6am on Sunday 4 October 2026 until 11.59pm on Sunday 11 October 2026.
  • Notes:

  • Duration: 6am on Monday 14 September 2026 until 6pm on Friday 18 September 2026.
  • Notes: Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

  • Reason for closure: Council Roads Service is to carry out carriageway resurfacing
  • Town: Lenzie
  • Road affected: B819 Lindsaybeg Road, between its junction with the B757 Auchinloch Road and the A806 Initiative Road at Lindsaybeg Roundabout
  • Duration: 6am on Sunday 9 August  until 11.59pm on Sunday Sunday 23 August 2026
  • Notes: Alternative routes, will be by way of the A806 Initiative Road, the B757 Stepps Road and Auchinloch Road and these routes will be sign posted.  Internal side roads will also be sign posted.
    Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

  • Reason for closures: East Dunbartonshire Council Roads Service is to carry out carriageway resurfacing works 
  • Town: Lenzie
  • Roads affected: 
    • Watermill Avenue, closed from its junction with the B819 Lindsaybeg Road and the existing turning head facility at its termination
    • Farm Park, closed from its junction with Watermill Avenue and the existing turning head facility at its termination.
    • Millars Place, closed from its junction with Farm Park and the existing turning head facility at its termination.
  • Duration: from 6am on Sunday 23 August 2026 until 11.59pm on Sunday 6 September 2026
  • Notes: Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works. Alternative routes are by of Watermill Avenue, the B819 Lindsaybeg Road and Orchard Field, Lenzie, and these routes will be sign posted.

Scheduled temporary traffic management

  • Reason for traffic management: SGN is to carry out gas main replacement works
  • Town: Bardowie
  • Road affected: Balmore Road, Bardowie, between a point east of Allander Toll Roundabout and a point just west of its junction with Craigmaddie Road
  • Duration: 9:30am Monday 27 July 2026 for approximately six weeks
  • Notes: The temporary traffic signal will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.  The use of temporary traffic signals may result in delays to traffic in the area.

    Advance warning notification signs will be erected on street as soon as possible.

  • Reason for traffic management: East Dunbartonshire Council Roads Service is to carry out works associated with a new power supply 
  • Town: Bearsden
  • Road affected: Canniesburn Road near its junction with Spey Road
  • Duration: 9:30am on Sunday 27 September 2026 for approximately one week
  • Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, the existing traffic signals will require to be switched off and temporary five way traffic signals incorporating pedestrian crossing facilities will be used to control traffic movements on Canniesburn Road at its junctions with Spey Road, Kinfauns Drive and Annick Drive, Bearsden.
    The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.  The use of temporary traffic signals may result in delays to traffic in the area.

  • Reason for traffic management: BT is to carry out repairs to damaged ironwork 
  • Town: Kirkintilloch
  • Road affected: A803 Glasgow Road,at its junction with Campsie Road Kirkintilloch
  • Duration: From 9am on Saturday 29 August 2026 until 6am on Monday 31 August 2026
  • Notes: Temporary five way traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements on Glasgow Road at its junctions with Campsie Road and West High Street and the unnamed access road opposite its junction with Campsie Road, Kirkintilloch.

    The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.  The use of temporary traffic signals may result in delays to traffic in the area.

  • Reason for traffic management: East Dunbartonshire Council Regeneration Team is to carry out road improvement works 
  • Town: Lennoxtown
  • Road affected: A891 between its junctions with the B822 Crosshill Street and School Lane
  • Duration: Construction is now underway and is estimated to conclude by late Summer 2026
  • Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, rolling temporary traffic signals incorporating temporary pedestrian crossing facilities as required will be used to control traffic movements.
    The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.  The use of temporary traffic signals may result in delays to traffic in the area.

  • Reason for traffic management: Filming
  • Town: Near Lennoxtown
  • Road affected: B822 Crow Road, north of Crow Road car park,
  • Duration: from 7am to 7pm on Friday 27 Sptember 2026
  • Notes: In order for the filming to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements on Crow Road at the filming location.  The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at all times.  The use of temporary traffic signals will result in delays to traffic in the area.

    A section of Crow Road Car Park, near Lennoxtown, will be temporarily closed, from the morning of Thursday 17 September 2026 for two days to allow space for production vehicles involved in the filming.

    Advance warning notification signs will be erected on street one week prior to the start of the filming.

     

  • Reason for traffic management: A contractor is to carry out bat surveys 
  • Town: Milngavie
  • Road affected: A807 Auchenhowie Road between its junctions with the A81 Glasgow Road and the access road to Auchenhowie Sport Hub
  • Duration: from 9.30am until 3.30pm, each day, on Tuesday 28 July 2026, and also on Tuesday 25 August 2026
  • Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, the existing traffic signals and pedestrian crossing facility will require to be switched off and temporary four way traffic signals incorporating pedestrian crossing facilities, will be used to control traffic movements on Auchenhowie Road at its junction with Glasgow Road and the vehicular access road to Auchenhowie Sport Hub. The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at all times.

Scheduled temporary traffic restrictions

  • Traffic restriction: Temporary no waiting restrictions. No waiting at any time.
  • Town: Bearsden
  • Road affected: Kessington Road, Rannoch Drive and Cluny Avenue, Bearsden
  • Duration: 6am on Monday 4 May 2026 until 6pm on Wednesday 3 November 2027
  • Notes:
    • Kessington Road (North) from a point 30 metres or thereby east of the extended east kerbline of MacFarlane Road eastwards for a distance of 242 metres or thereby to its junction with Clathic Avenue and Killermont Road at the mini roundabout
    • Rannoch Drive (Northeast) from a point 30 metres northwest of the extended west kerbline of Lochaber Road north-westwards for a distance of 140 metres or thereby
    • Clunty Avenue (North) from its junction with Rannoch Drive, north-westwards for a distance of 120 metres or thereby.

  • Traffic restriction: East Dunbartonshire Council require to temporarily suspend the existing one way operation
  • Town: Kirkintilloch
  • Road affected: Broadcroft, from the extended northeast kerbline of Cowgate northeastwards to the extended southwest kerbline of David Donnelly Place
  • Duration: from 12.01am on Friday 21 August 2026 until 6am on Monday 24 August 2026
  • Notes: This will allow two way operation on the above named road, which will be controlled by way of banksmen/event traffic management operatives.

  • Traffic restriction: Temporary no waiting and no loading restrictions order 2026. East Dunbartonshire Council made a temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which makes it unlawful for any person to cause or permit any vehicle, with the exception of school buses, to wait or load or unload in the length of road specified in the Schedule by reason of the likelihood of danger to the public, as school buses are dropping off school pupils at Holy Family Primary School
  • Town: Kirkintilloch
  • Road affected: Westergreens Avenue
  • Duration: 8am on Monday, 15 June 2026 until 6pm on Tuesday, 14 December 2027 and will be effective between 8.30am and 9.30pm and between 2.30am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, for the duration of the Order
  • Notes: Westergreens Ave from a point 46 metres or thereby northeast of the extended northeast kerbline of the access road adjacent to number 68 Westergreens Avenue, north-eastwards for a distance of 72 metres or thereby.

  • Town: Kirkintilloch
  • Road affected: Freeland Place
  • Duration: 8am on Monday, 29 June 2026 until 6pm on Tuesday, 28 December 2027 and will be effective between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Saturday, for the duration of the Order. 
  • Notes: From a point 29 metres or thereby northeast of the extended northeast kerbline of Castle Court, Kirkintilloch northwards for a distance of 54 metres or thereby.

  • Traffic restriction: No waiting at any time restrictions 
  • Town: Lennoxtown
  • Road affected: Both sides of Chapel Street from its junction with the A891 Main Street, northwards for a distance of 28 metres or thereby
  • Duration: from 6am on Monday 25 May 2026 until 6pm on Friday 28 August 2026.

  • Traffic restriction: Temporary no waiting restrictions.
  • Town: Milngavie
  • Road affected: Keystone Avenue
  • Duration: 8am on Monday, 29 June 2026 until 6pm on Tuesday, 28 December 2027 
  • Notes: From a point 30 metres east of the extended east kerbline of Main Street, Milngavie, eastwards for a distance of 285 metres or thereby.

  • Traffic restriction: A temporary 10 mph speed limit
  • Town: Milngavie
  • Road affected: A81 Strathblane Road, near Milngavie, between a point just north of its junction with Craigmaddie Road and the East Dunbartonshire Council/Stirling Council Boundary 
  • Duration: 8am until 6pm each day on Monday 14 September until Friday 18 September 2026
  • Notes: As part of the carriageway resurfacing works rolling temporary traffic signals as required will be used to control traffic movements on the A81 Strathblane Road, near Milngavie, from a point 150 metres or thereby north of its junction with Craigmaddie Road northwards for a distance of 600 metres or thereby to the East Dunbartonshire Council/Stirling Council Boundary, from 7am on Monday 14 September 2026 for approximately five days.  The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.
