Kirkintilloch

Meiklehill Road between its junctions with Shells Road and Meiklehill Avenue

8am on Monday 22 January 2024 until 6pm on Friday 30 August 2024.

Alternative routes, will be by way of Meiklehill Road, Highfield Avenue, Highfield Road, Highfield Crescent and Fernlea Road, Kirkintilloch, and these routes will be sign posted

The alternative routes are by way of the A81 Milngavie Road, Roman Road, the A809 Drymen Road, and Canniesburn Toll Roundabout, Bearsden. 

The northbound and southbound carriageways of the A739 Switchback Road will remain open at all times.

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for vehicles engaged in the works.  There will be no access through the closed sections of road for emergency service vehicles.

As part of the works lane closures will also be in place on the approaches to Canniesburn Toll Roundabout on the A739 Switchback Road (Northbound), the A809 Drymen Road and MacFarlane Road, Bearsden and also on sections of Canniesburn Toll Roundabout, which will remain open. 

From 5pm until 10pm on Friday 22 March 2024, and from 8am until 8pm on Sunday 24 March 2024 and 6pm on Friday 29 March 2024 until 6pm on Tuesday 30 April 2024

There are no alternative routes .

Access to the closed section, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works. 

As part of the works, rolling temporary traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements on Canal Street/Peter D Stirling Road/Hillhead Road and Eastside, Kirkintilloch. The use of temporary traffic signals may result in delays to traffic in the area.

The affected businesses/residents will be letter dropped in advance.
 

From 8am on Sunday 21 April 2024 until 6pm on Sunday 28 April 2024.

Alternative routes will be by way of Dumgoyne Avenue, the B8050 Craigdhu Road, Hunter Road, Craigton Road and Clober Road, Milngavie, and these routes will be sign posted.  Internal diversion routes will also be sign posted.

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

8am hours on Monday 22 April until 6ppm on Friday 26 April 2024

Alternative routes are by way of Hillfoot Drive, Hillside Avenue, Hillfoot Avenue, Manse Road, Grange Road, Roman Road, Roman Drive, the A81 Milngavie Road, Bearsden, and these routes will be sign posted

Temporary three way traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements.  The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at all times.

Advance warning notification signs will be put in place as soon as possible for the temporary road closure and temporary traffic management.

Alternative routes will be by way of Rannoch Drive, Speirs Road, Albert Drive, Inveroran Drive, and Glendaruel Avenue, Bearsden, and these routes will be sign posted.  Internal routes will also be sign posted.

B819 Crosshill Road southeast of the existing access to Low Moss Driving Range between its junction with Cole Road, Bishopbriggs and Boghead Road, Lenzie

Alternative routes will be by way of the B819 Crosshill Road, Cole Road, the A803 Kirkintilloch Road, Westerhill Road, Wester Lumloch Road, the B812 Auchinairn Road/Robroyston Road, Bishopbriggs, the B819 Crosshill Road, the B757 Auchinloch Road, the B819 Lindsaybeg Road, Lenzie, the A806 Initiative Road and New Lairdsland Road, Lenzie and Kirkintilloch, the A803 Glasgow Road and  Kirkintilloch Road, Kirkintilloch, and these routes will be sign posted.  Boghead Road, Gallowhill Road, the B757 Lenzie Road. Townhead and Parliament Road, Kirkintilloch, will also be sign posted.

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works. There will be no access through the closed section of road for emergency service vehicles.

Keystone Avenue east of its junction with Keystone Road

7am on Monday 6 May 2024 until 6pm on Friday 5 July 2024

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

From 9.30am on Monday, 6 May until 6pm on Friday, 31 May 2024.

The alternative routes will be by way of the B819 Crosshill Road, Cole Road, the A803 Kirkintilloch Road, Westerhill Road, Wester Lumloch Road, the B812 Auchinairn Road/Robroyston Road, Bishopbriggs, the B819 Crosshill Road, the B757 Auchinloch Road, the B819 Lindsaybeg Road, Lenzie, the A806 Initiative Road and New Lairdsland Road, Lenzie and Kirkintilloch, the A803 Glasgow Road and  Kirkintilloch Road, Kirkintilloch, and these routes will be sign posted.

East Dunbartonshire Council made the above named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so) on the B819 Crosshill Road, Bishopbriggs between its junctions with Cole Road, Bishopbriggs and Boghead Road, Lenzie, by reason of works being executed on or near this road.

From 8am on Sunday 12 May 2024 until 6pm on Sunday 19 May 2024.

The alternative routes will be by of Callieburn Road, Springfield Road, Muir Street, Emerson Road, Emerson Road West, Lee Crescent, Crowhill Road, the B812 Auchinairn Road and Beech Road, Bishopbriggs, and these routes will be sign posted. 

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

Alternative routes will be by way of Ellangowan Road, the B8030 Woodburn Way and Station Road, the A81 Strathblane Road, Milngavie, the C56 between the A81 Strathblane Road and Mugdock Road, and these routes will be sign posted.

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.  There will be no access through the closed section of road for emergency service vehicles.

Alternative routes will be by of Friars Croft, Ivanhoe Drive, Newdyke Road, Redbrae Road, Lammermoor Road, and Woodstock Avenue, Kirkintilloch, and these routes will be sign posted.

Classes of vehicles prohibited  -  All ( except vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works). 

From 6am on Sunday 19 May 2024 until 6pm on Sunday 26 May 2024.

Alternative routes, will be by way of Kerr Street, Cowgate, Union Street, Bellfield Road, Northbank Road Alexandra Street, Kirkintilloch.  Internal routes will be sign posted.

Please note that the closure will be carried out in two phases to allow access to the Regent Centre Car Park, Kirkintilloch.

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

Heath Avenue its junction with the B757 Kirkintilloch Road

6am on Monday 20 May 2024 until 6pm on  Friday 24 May 2024.

8am on Monday 27 May 2024 until 6pm on Friday 2 August 2024.

Alternative routes will be by way of Main Street, South Mains Road, Breadie Drive, Shaw Road and Nethermains Road, Milngavie, and these routes will be sign posted.

The temporary road closure will be carried out in various phases.

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works. There will be no access through the closed section of road for emergency service vehicles.

8am on Monday 3 June 2024 until 6pm hours on Sunday 16 June 2024.

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, East Dunbartonshire Council will require to close Russell Drive, Bearsden, from its junction with Gartconnell Road, Bearsden, over its entire length.

There are no alternative routes.

Canniesburn Toll Roundabout

9.30am on Monday 31 July 2023 for a period of approximately 9 months

A temporary traffic management system involving lane closures will be in place on Canniesburn Toll Roundabout

Advance warning notification signs will be erected on street one week prior to the start of the works

These works are to replace a damaged section of carrier pipe that drains the flood defence system in the area.

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary two way traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements on Balmore Road at the works location.

The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled from 7am until 7pm, each day. 

The use of temporary traffic signals may result in delays to traffic on Balmore Road. 

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, rolling temporary two/three way traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements on Glen Road between the access road to Clachan of Campsie and a point southeast of the existing roundabout to Newbridge, Lennoxtown

The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.  The use of temporary traffic signals may result in delays to traffic in the area.

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, the existing traffic signals will require to be switched off and temporary three way traffic signals incorporating pedestrian crossing facilities will be used to control traffic movements.

The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.  The use of temporary traffic signals may result in delays to traffic in the area.

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, the existing pedestrian crossing facility will require to be switched off and temporary five way traffic signals incorporating a pedestrian crossing facilities will be used to control traffic movements.

The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.  The use of temporary traffic signals may result in delays to traffic in the area.

1. A803 Kirkintilloch Road between A807 Torrance Road and Marley Tiles Vehicular Access.
2. Cole Road between the A803 Kirkintilloch Road and the B819 Crosshill Road, Bishopbriggs.
3. B819 Crosshill Road between Cole Road and the vehicular access to Low Moss Driving Range, Bishopbriggs

In order for the surveys to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary two/three and four way traffic signals incorporating pedestrian crossing facilities as required will be used to control traffic movements at the above locations.  The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at all times.  The use of temporary traffic signals may result in delays to traffic in the area.

Please note that only one set of temporary traffic signals will be in place at the one time.

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, the existing temporary traffic signals will require to be switched off and temporary four way traffic signals incorporating pedestrian crossing facilities will be used to control traffic movements on Station Road at its junction with Strathblane Road.

The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled between 7am until 7pm, each day.  The use of temporary traffic signals may result in delays to traffic in the area.

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary three way traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements on Kirkintilloch Road at its junction with the vehicular access to the Stables.

The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at all times.  The use of temporary traffic signals may result in delays to traffic in the area

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary four way traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements on Kilsyth Road at its junction with Kelvinvale and Eastside at Eastside roundabout.

The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.  The use of temporary traffic signals may result in delays to traffic in the area.

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, the existing pedestrian crossing facility will require to be switched off and temporary four way traffic signals incorporating pedestrian crossing facilities will be used to control traffic movements on Cowgate/Townhead at its junctions with Luggiebank Road and Southbank Road.

The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at all times. 

1. From the A807 Torrance Road, Torrance, into the private access at Bogton Field, Torrance.

Vehicles travelling on the A807 Torrance Road which can not turn right into Bogton Field should proceed northwestwards on the A807 Torrance Road then proceed in a clockwise direction around Kelvinbridge roundabout then turn left into the A807 Torrance Road then proceed southeastwards on the A807 Torrance Road then turn left into the private access to Bogton Field.

2. From the private access at Bogton Field, Torrance, into the A807 Torrance Road, Torrance.

Vehicles leaving Bogton Field, Torrance, should turn left into the A807 Torrance Road then proceed southeastwards on the A807 Torrance Road then proceed in a clockwise direction around Torrance roundabout then turn left into the A807 Torrance Road then proceed northwestwards on the A807 Torrance Road.
