Scheduled road closures and road works

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary three way traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements on Balmore Road at Bardowie Mews, Bardowie.

The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at all times.

Contractor carrying out various groundworks including the formation of a new access. These works are associated with the new Cala Housing Development presently under construction.

There are also repairs being carried out on the existing former railway bridge on Chryston Road, due to corrosion discovered during the site investigation

Chryston Road, Fauldhead, at a location to the east of its junction with Market Road, Kirkintilloch

In order to prevent danger to the public arising from damage to the structural integrity of the bridge over the former railway bridge and for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, East Dunbartonshire Council will require to extend the existing temporary road closure on Chryston Road Fauldhead, between its junctions with Market Road, Kirkintilloch, and Sauchenhall Road/Muckcroft Road from 6pm on Sunday 22 September 2024 until 6pm on Friday 31 March 2025.

Alternative routes are be by of Sauchenhall Road, Gartshore Road, Mollins Road, the B8048 Waterside Road, Market Road, Kirkintilloch, Calfmuir Road, and Muckcroft Road, and these routes are presently being sign posted.

Access to the closed section of road is presently only maintained for vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent the closed section of road. There is no access through the closed section of road for emergency service vehicles

A contractor is to carry out various works including the formation of a new roundabout and a temporary site access. These works are associated with the construction of the new Crematorium.

Crosshill Road, Bishopbriggs, between its junction with Cole Road, Bishopbriggs and Boghead Road, Lenzie

Alternative routes will be by way of the B819 Crosshill Road, Cole Road, the A803 Kirkintilloch Road, Westerhill Road, Wester Lumloch Road, the B812 Auchinairn Road/Robroyston Road, Bishopbriggs, the B819 Crosshill Road, the B757 Auchinloch Road, the B819 Lindsaybeg Road, Lenzie, the A806 Initiative Road, Lenzie and Kirkintilloch, the A806 New Lairdsland Road, the A803 Glasgow Road and Kirkintilloch Road, Kirkintilloch, and these routes will be sign posted.  Boghead Road, Gallowhill Road, the B757 Lenzie Road. Townhead and Parliament Road, Kirkintilloch, will also be sign posted.

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.  There will be no access through the closed section of road for emergency service vehicles.

Bailie Drive, from its junction with Stockiemuir Avenue southeastwards to a point just east of its junction with Campsie Drive at the existing turning head facility

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, East Dunbartonshire Council will require to close a section of Bailie Drive, Bearsden, from its junction with Stockiemuir Avenue southeastwards to a point just east of its junction with Campsie Drive at the existing turning head facility, 

Alternative routes will be by way of Campsie Drive, Stockiemuir Avenue, the A809 Stockiemuir Road, the A809 Drymen Road, Gartconnell Drive and Edgehill Road, Bearsden, and these routes will be sign posted.

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

Alternative routes will be by way of the A803 Kirkintilloch Road and Stuart Drive, Bishopbriggs, and these routes will be sign posted. 

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

All vehicles are prohibited except vehicles engaged in the works.

EDC Roads Operations is to carry out carriageway resurfacing works 

Bearsden

Milngavie Road, between its junctions with Hillfoot Drive and Reid Avenue

From 6am on Sunday 13 October 2024 until 6pm on Sunday 20 October 2024, during the school October holidays.

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, East Dunbartonshire Council will require to close Milngavie Road, Bearsden, between its junctions with Hillfoot Drive and Reid Avenue.

The alternative routes will be by of the A81 Milngavie Road, the B8049 Boclair Road, Bearsden, the A807 Auchenhowie Road, the A81 Glasgow Road, the B8030 Station Road, Woodburn Way, Main Street, Milngavie, and these routes will be sign posted.  Park Road, the B8050 Craigdhu Road, Milngavie, the A809 Stockiemuir Road, the A809 Drymen Road, Canniesburn Toll Roundabout, MacFarlane Road, Bearsden, will also be sign posted.

Bishopbriggs

Teviot Avenue, between its junctions with Meadowburn and Heriot Crescent

From 12.01am on Monday 14 October 2024 until 11.59pm on Sunday 20 October 2024, during the school October holidays

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, East Dunbartonshire Council will require to close Teviot Avenue, Bishopbriggs, between its junctions with Meadowburn and Heriot Crescent,

Alternative routes will be by way of Meadowburn, Lyne Croft, Lendale Lane, Mennock Drive, Yarrow Road and Heriot Crescent, Bishopbriggs, and these routes will be sign posted. 

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.
 

All vehicles are prohibited except vehicles engaged in the works.

The alternative routes will be by way of the B8050 Baljaffray Road and Grampian Way, Bearsden, and these routes will be sign posted.

Torrance

Barraston Road between its junction with Acre Valley Road and its junction with the private access road to Leitchbank

Alternative routes will be by way of Barraston Road, Tower Road, the A807 Bamore Road, the b822 Main Street and West Balgrochan Road, Torrance, and these routes will be sign posted.

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.
 

Alternative routes are by of Glen Orchard Road, Tower Road, Craigmaddie Road and the A807 Balmore Road, and these routes will be sign posted.

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

Alternative routes will be by way of Balfleurs Street, Lynn Drive, the A81 Strathblane Road and Baldernock Road, Milngavie, and these routes will be sign posted.

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

All vehicles are prohibited except vehicles engaged in the works.

The alternative routes will be by way of the B8050 Baljaffray Road and Grampian Way, Bearsden, and these routes will be sign posted.

From 6am on Sunday 27 October 2024 until 6pm on Sunday 3 November 2024.

1. Methven Avenue, Bearsden, Closed between its junctions with Durness Avenue and Birnam Crescent, Bearsden.
2. Ardoch Road, Bearsden, Closed between its junction with the B8049 Boclair Road and Methven Avenue, Bearsden.
3. Kenmore Gardens, Bearsden, Closed from its junction with Methven Avenue, Bearsden, northwards to its termination at the existing turning head.

The alternative routes will be by of the B8049 Boclair Road, Rannoch Drive, Tyndrum Road, Durness Avenue, Dunkeld Drive, and Inveroran Drive, Bearsden, and these routes will be sign posted. 

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties adjacent to the closed sections of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

All vehicles are prohibited except vehicles engaged in the works.

The alternative routes will be by way of the B8050 Baljaffray Road and Grampian Way, Bearsden, and these routes will be sign posted.

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

Alternative routes are by way of Fettercairn Gardens, Woodhill Road and Brechin Road, Bishopbriggs, and these routes will be sign posted.

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

Alternative routes for vehicles will be by way of Maxwell Avenue, Canniesburn Road, Canniesburn Toll Roundabout, the A739 Switchback Road, Bearsden, Bearsden Road, Ilay Avenue, Ilay Road, and Westerton Avenue, and these routes will be sign posted. Local alternative routes will also be sign posted.

All vehicles are prohibited except vehicles engaged in the works.

The alternative routes will be by way of the B8050 Baljaffray Road and Grampian Way, Bearsden, and these routes will be sign posted.

All ( except emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the and those vehicles requiring access to properties adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works).

There are no alternative routes.

From 6am on Monday 4 November 2024 until 6pm on Sunday 15 December 2024.

These works are associated with the construction of a new outdoor centre on land to the east of Main Street adjacent to the Forth and Clyde Canal.  In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner. 

Alternative routes, will be by way of Main Street and Twechar Road, in Twechar, the B8048 Kirkintilloch Road, Auchinstarry Road, Howe Road, the B8023 Shirva Road, the A803 Kilsyth Road and Glasgow Road, the A806 New Lairdsland Road, and the B8048 Waterside Road, Kirkintilloch, and these routes will be sign posted.

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.  Please note that access will also be maintained for SPT buses only during the closure by way of banksmen/traffic control during the temporary road closure.

It is also noted that SPEN will only have the closure in place on Main Street, Twechar, between 9am and 6pm, each day, Mondays to Fridays.   Thereafter, temporary traffic signals will be in place from 6pm until 9am,each night/morning, 

Main Street, will also be open over the weekend under the control of temporary traffic signals.  The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled on Saturdays and Sunday from 7am until 7pm, each day.  The use of temporary traffic signals may result in delays to traffic in the area.

East Dunbartonshire Council made the above named Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause  or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of emergency service vehicles and those vehicles requiring access to properties adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so) on the A809 Drymen Road, Bearsden between its junctions with Ledcameroch Road, Bearsden and Colquhoun Drive, Bearsden, for reasons of public safety and convenience.

This Order will operate from 10.00 hours until 12.00 hours on Sunday, 10 November 2024.

Alternative Routes

The alternative route for vehicles travelling northwards on Drymen Road will be by way of Ledcameroch Road, Whitehill Road, Thorn Road, Thorn Drive, Colquhoun Drive and then returning to Drymen Road, Bearsden.  Vehicles travelling southwards on Drymen Road should travel vice-versa.  Vehicles travelling westwards on Roman Road will be diverted via Douglas Place, New Kirk Road and then northwards only on Drymen Road, Bearsden.

All vehicles are prohibited except vehicles engaged in the works.

The alternative routes will be by way of the B8050 Baljaffray Road and Grampian Way, Bearsden, and these routes will be sign posted.

The alternative routes will be by of Blackwood Road and Crawford Road, Milngavie, and these routes will be sign posted.

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

From 6am on Sunday 24 November 2024 until 6pm on Sunday 8 December 2024.

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, East Dunbartonshire Council will require to close the road.

There are no alternatives routes.

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

From 6am on Thursday 28 November 2024 until 6pm on Wednesday 11 December 2024.

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, East Dunbartonshire Council will require to close a section of the road.

Alternative routes, will be by way of Kelvin View, Differ Avenue and Gartshore Crescent, Twechar, and these routes will be sign posted.

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

Bearsden

Ledcameroch Road, between a point west of its junction with the A809 Drymen Road and a point west of its junction with the most westerly vehicular access to Ledcameroch Crescent.

Monday 2 September 2024 for approximately two months.

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, rolling temporary two and three way temporary traffic signals will be used to control traffic movement. The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at peak times, each day.

Bearsden

The A809 Drymen Road at its junctions with the A810 Duntocher Road and Stockiemuir Road

From 9.15am until 2.30pm, each day, from Monday 7 October 2024 for approximately five days.

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, the existing pedestrian crossing facility will require to be switched off and temporary three way traffic signals incorporating a pedestrian crossing facility will be used to control traffic movements.

The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at all times.  The use of temporary traffic signals may result in delays to traffic in the area.

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary three traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements. 

The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at peak times, each day.

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary three way traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements on Campsie Road (Between Torrance and Lennoxtown) and its junction with Campsie Road (Kirkintilloch

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary four way traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements.

The temporary traffic signals will be manually between 7am until 7pm, each day.

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary three traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements.

The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at all times.

Alternative routes for vehicles will be by way of the A81 Milngavie Road, Roman Road, the A809 Drymen Road and Canniesburn Toll Roundabout, Bearsden, and these routes will be sign posted.  

All vehicles (except vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requir-ing access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when safe and practical to do so during the works). 

Alternative routes for vehicles will be by way of Maryhill Road, Canniesburn Toll Roundabout, and MacFarlane Road, Bearsden, and these routes will be sign posted. 

East Dunbartonshire Council made the above named Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which makes it unlawful for any person to cause or permit any motor vehicle to wait at any time, by reason of public safety and convenience, on:-

(i) either side of Ledcameroch Road, Bearsden between its junctions with the A809 Drymen Road and Whitehill Road.

(ii) either ide of Whitehill Road, Bearsden between its junctions with Ledcameroch Road and Thorn Road,

(iii) either side of Thorn Road, Bearsden between its junctions with Whitehill Road and Thorn Drive.

(iv)  either side of Thorn Drive, Bearsden between its junctions with Thorn Road and Colquhoun Drive.

(v)  either side of Colquhoun Drive, Bearsden between its junctions with Thorn Drive and the A809 Drymen Road.

From 6am until 8pm on Sunday, 10 November 2024.

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, rolling temporary three/ four/ and five way traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements on Grampian Way, Bearsden, between its junction with Ledi Drive and Alva Gardens, Bearsden, from 7am until 6pm, each day, from Monday 30 September 2024 for approximately seven weeks ie Mondays to Fridays only, no weekend working. The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at all times, each day.

As part of the footway resurfacing works, the three link roads between the B8050 Baljaffray Road and Grampian Way, Bearsden, will also be closed at times during the footway resurfacing works. Please note that only link road will be closed at the one time. Alternative diversion routes will be sign posted.
