As part of the carriageway resurfacing works, East Dunbartonshire Council also require to temporarily suspend the existing one way operation, on the following section of road, contained within the provisions of Schedule 12 of the "East Dunbartonshire Council (Bishopbriggs) (Traffic Management Consolidation) Order 2013, from 08.00 hours on Sunday 15 September 2024 until 18.00 hours on Sunday 29 September 2024.

Emerson Road West, Bishopbriggs, between its junctions with Crowhill Road and Lee Crescent, Bishopbriggs.

This will allow two way operation on the above named road, which will be controlled by way of temporary traffic signals and operatives when the above road is closed.  Manual control of the temporary traffic signals will be in place between 7am and 7pm, each day.

Industry Street and Woodhead Avenue between the western boundary of property number 31 Industry Street and the southern boundary of property number 6 Woodhead Avenue.

All vehicles are prohibited except emergency vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties adjacent to the closed section of road when it is safe and practical to do so during the works.

Alternative routes will be by way of the A81 Glasgow Road, Baldernock Road, South Glassford Street and Briarwell Road, Milngavie, and this route will be sign posted. 

6am on Monday 16 September 2024 until 6pm on Monday 30 September 2024. 

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, we will close Kerr Road, between its junctions with Kelvin Road and Craigton Gardens.

Alternative routes will be by of Kelvin Road, Craigash Road, Craigton Gardens, and Craigend Drive West, Milngavie, and these routes will be sign posted.

Contractor carrying out various groundworks including the formation of a new access. These works are associated with the new Cala Housing Development presently under construction.

There are also repairs being carried out on the existing former railway bridge on Chryston Road, due to corrosion discovered during the site investigation

Chryston Road, Fauldhead, at a location to the east of its junction with Market Road, Kirkintilloch

In order to prevent danger to the public arising from damage to the structural integrity of the bridge over the former railway bridge and for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, East Dunbartonshire Council will require to extend the existing temporary road closure on Chryston Road Fauldhead, between its junctions with Market Road, Kirkintilloch, and Sauchenhall Road/Muckcroft Road from 6pm on Sunday 22 September 2024 until 6pm on Friday 31 March 2025.

Alternative routes are be by of Sauchenhall Road, Gartshore Road, Mollins Road, the B8048 Waterside Road, Market Road, Kirkintilloch, Calfmuir Road, and Muckcroft Road, and these routes are presently being sign posted.

Access to the closed section of road is presently only maintained for vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent the closed section of road. There is no access through the closed section of road for emergency service vehicles

Alternative routes will be by way of Katrine Avenue, Leven Avenue, Linnhe Avenue, Sunart Road,Menteith Avenue and Shiel Road, Bishopbriggs, and this route will be sign posted.

The alternative routes are by way of Craigmaddie Road, the A807 Balmore Road, the A807 Auchenhowie Road, the A81 Glasgow Road and Strathblane Road, Milngavie, and these routes will be sign posted.

Access to the closed section of road is presently only maintained for vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent the closed section of road. There is no access through the closed section of road for emergency service vehicles

A contractor is to carry out various works including the formation of a new roundabout and a temporary site access on the Crosshill Road southeast of the existing access to Low Moss Driving Range, Bishopbriggs. These works are associated with the construction of the new Crematorium.

Crosshill Road, Bishopbriggs, between its junction with Cole Road, Bishopbriggs and Boghead Road, Lenzie

Alternative routes will be by way of the B819 Crosshill Road, Cole Road, the A803 Kirkintilloch Road, Westerhill Road, Wester Lumloch Road, the B812 Auchinairn Road/Robroyston Road, Bishopbriggs, the B819 Crosshill Road, the B757 Auchinloch Road, the B819 Lindsaybeg Road, Lenzie, the A806 Initiative Road, Lenzie and Kirkintilloch, the A806 New Lairdsland Road, the A803 Glasgow Road and Kirkintilloch Road, Kirkintilloch, and these routes will be sign posted.  Boghead Road, Gallowhill Road, the B757 Lenzie Road. Townhead and Parliament Road, Kirkintilloch, will also be sign posted.

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, East Dunbartonshire Council will require to close a section of Bailie Drive, Bearsden, from its junction with Stockiemuir Avenue southeastwards to a point just east of its junction with Campsie Drive at the existing turning head facility, 

Alternative routes will be by way of Campsie Drive, Stockiemuir Avenue, the A809 Stockiemuir Road, the A809 Drymen Road, Gartconnell Drive and Edgehill Road, Bearsden, and these routes will be sign posted.

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

Alternative routes will be by way of the A803 Kirkintilloch Road and Stuart Drive, Bishopbriggs, and these routes will be sign posted.

Ledcameroch Road, between a point west of its junction with the A809 Drymen Road and a point west of its junction with the most westerly vehicular access to Ledcameroch Crescent.

Monday 2 September 2024 for approximately two months.

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, rolling temporary two and three way temporary traffic signals will be used to control traffic movement. The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at peak times, each day.

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, rolling temporary two and four way traffic signals incorporating pedestrian crossing facilities as required will be used to control traffic movements on Douglas Street and Clober Road between their respective junction with Park Road and a point north of its junction with North Claremont Lane, Milngavie. The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at all times.

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary three way traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements.

The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at all times.  The use of temporary traffic signals may result in delays to traffic in the area.

Kirkintilloch Canal Festival

Strathkelvin Place, Kirkintilloch, from the most south westerly access leading to Kirkintilloch Police Station to its junction with Donaldson Street. There are no suitable alternative routes available.

Cowgate and West High Street, Kirkintilloch, between their respective junctions with Catherine Street and Achill Place.
Alternative routes: Vehicles on the northwest side of the closure should proceed westwards on West High Street then northeastwards on the A803 Glasgow Road then southeastwards on the A806 New Lairdsland Road then southwestwards on Catherine Street to the southeast side of the closure. Vehicles on the southeast side of the closure should proceed vice-versa.

Union Street, Kirkintilloch, between its junctions with Cowgate and Oxford Street. The alternative routes will be sign posted by way of Oxford Street and Kerr Street.

David Donnelly Place, from its junction with Cowgate, northeastwards for a distance of 30 metres or thereby. There are no suitable alternative routes available.

Southbank Road and Southbank Drive, between their respective junctions with Townhead and Strathkelvin Place. Alternative routes: Vehicles on the southwest side of the closure should proceed southeastwards on Southbank Drive then eastwards in Donaldson Street then northeastwards and northwestwards in Townhead to the northeast side of the closure.  Vehicles travelling southeastwards in Townhead at the northeast side of the closure should proceed vice versa.  Vehicles travelling northwestwards in Townhead at the northeast side of the closure should proceed northwestwards in Townhead and Cowgate then northeastwards in Catherine Street then southeastwards in the A806 New Lairdsland Road then westwards in Parliament Road then southwestwards in Townhead then westwards in Donaldson Street then northwestwards in Southbank Drive to the southwest side of the closure.

Southbank Road, from Southbank Drive southwestwards to its termination. There are no suitable alternative routes available. Access to the closed roads will be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in event activities and those vehicles requiring access to properties adjacent to the closed section of road when it safe and practical to do so during the event.

Alternative routes: The alternative routes are by way of Drymen Road, Bearsden; the A809 Stockiemuir Road, Bearsden; the B8050 Craigdhu Road, Milngavie; Park Road, Milngavie; Main Street, Milngavie; the A81 Milngavie Road; and Maryhill Road, Bearsden, and these routes will be sign posted.

2. Canniesburn Toll Roundabout, Bearsden between the southbound carriageway of the A809 Drymen Road and the southeast carriageway of Maryhill Road, Bearsden.

6. Unnamed Service Road adjacent to Drymen Road, Bearsden from its junction with A809 Drymen Road northwards for a distance of 10 metres or thereby.

Duration of closure: The above length of road is currently closed until 6pm on Sunday 1 September 2024 and this closure will continue to operate until 11.59pm on Monday 23 September 2024.

Alternative routes: The alternative routes are by way of Gray Drive, Bearsden; and Moore Drive, Bearsden, and these routes will be signposted. 

7. Northwestbound carriageway of Maryhill Road, Bearsden between its junctions with the A81 Milngavie Road and Canniesburn Toll Roundabout, Bearsden.

Duration of closure: This closure will operate from 12.01am on Monday 9 September 2024 until 11.59pm on Monday 23 September 2024.

Alternative routes: The alternative routes are by way of the MacFarlane Road, Bearsden; the A81 Milngavie Road, Bearsden; Main Street, Milngavie; Park Road, Milngavie; the B8050 Craigdhu Road, Milngavie; the B8050 Baljaffray Road, Bearsden; the A810 Duntocher Road, Bearsden; the A810 Glasgow Road; the A8014 Kilbowie Road, Hardgate; and the A81 Great Western Road, and these routes will be signposted. 

8. Canniesburn Toll Roundabout, Bearsden between its junctions with the southbound carriageway of the A739 Switchback Road /Maryhill Road and the extended east kerbline of the northbound carriageway of the A739 Switchback Road, Bearsden.

Duration of closure: This closure will operate from 12.01am on Monday 9 September 2024 until 11.59pm on Monday 23 September 2024.

Alternative routes: The alternative routes are by way of Canniesburn Toll Roundabout, Bearsden; MacFarlane Road, Bearsden; the A81 Milngavie Road, Bearsden; Main Street, Milngavie; Park Road, Milngavie; the B8050 Craigdhu Road, Milngavie; the A809 Stockiemuir Road, Bearsden; and the A809 Drymen Road, Bearsden, and these routes will be sign posted.

10. Northbound carriageway of A739 Switchback Road, Bearsden between its junctions with Canniesburn Drive and Canniesburn Toll Roundabout, Bearsden.

Duration of closure: This closure will operate from 12.01am on Thursday 12 September 2024 until 11.50pm on Monday 23 September 2024.

Alternative routes: The alternative routes are by way of the A739 Crow Road, Anniesland; Anniesland Road, Anniesland; the A82 Great Western Road; the A8014 Kilbowie Road, Hardgate; the A810 Glasgow Road;  Duntocher Road; the A809 Drymen Road; and Canniesburn Toll Roundabout, and these routes will be signs posted.  The northbound lane of the A739 Switchback Road between Canniesburn Drive and Canniesburn Toll Roundabout, Bearsden, will also be used by way of a temporary contraflow system under the control of temporary six way traffic signals, from 12.01am on Thursday 12 September 2024 until 11.59pm hours on Monday 23 September 2024.  The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at all times.
