Technical Notes 2024, Issue 6 - Civic Government Appeals Board – 22 January 2024

  1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to update Members in relation to the Civic Government Appeals Board (CGAB) meeting scheduled for 22 January 2024.
  2. Members are advised that there is no business for this meeting of the CGAB to consider.
  3. A cancellation notice will be issued and the meeting removed from Members’ diaries.
  4. The next scheduled meeting of the CGAB is 10am on 18 March 2024, which will proceed subject to business. 

Technical Notes 2024, Issue 5 - Planning Board Meeting – 30th January 2024

1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to update Members in relation to the Planning Board meeting scheduled for 30th January 2024.  

2. There are no applications ready for consideration at the Planning Board currently scheduled to take place on 30th January 2024.  As a consequence, it is proposed to cancel the Planning Board meeting.  Delegated decisions and Appeals etc will be updated at the next scheduled meeting of the Planning Board on 26th March 2024.   

Technical Notes 2024, Issue 4 - Food For Life Bronze Award

  1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to update Members on the annual renewal inspection of the Food for Life Served Here Bronze Award by the Soil Association and a Food For Life Early Years application.
     
  2. Facilities Management received the Food For Life Served Here Bronze award for Primary schools in December 2022 and an annual renewal inspection is carried out to verify continued compliance with Food For Life Served Here standards.
     

Technical Notes 2024, Issue 3 -  HR Appeals Board – 30 January 2024

  1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to update Members in relation to the HR Appeals Board (HRAB) meeting scheduled for 30 January 2024.
     
  2. Members are advised that there is no business for this meeting of the HRAB to consider
     
  3. A cancellation notice will be issued, and the meeting removed from Members diaries.
     
  4. The next scheduled meeting of the HRAB is 10am on 27 February 2024, which will proceed subject to business.

Technical Notes 2024, Issue 2 - Additional Capital Investment in Footways, Access and Drainage Project Update

  1. The purpose of the Technical Note is to provide Members with an update on the previous agreed additional capital investment into various themed projects.
  2. As a reminder, the allocation of the additional investment was agreed at Council on 4 November 2021 under agenda item 14, report PNCA/091/21/AB.
  3. The Council agreed the recommendation of the report which were:

    Technical Notes 2024, Issue 1 - Former Councillor Margaret McNaughton

    1. Members may already be aware of the sad news that former Councillor Margaret McNaughton passed away on 23rd December.
       
    2. Margaret was Councillor for Kenmure and Baldernock Ward from 2003 to 2007.  She was also Convenor of the Planning Board during that time.
       
    3. Margaret’s funeral will be held on 23rd January at 10am St. Matthews Church, 2 South Crosshill Road, Bishopbriggs, G64 2LZ, then to Cadder Cemetery at 11.15am. Refreshments afterwards will be held at the Eagle Lodge, Bishopbriggs.
       

    Technical Notes 2023, Issue 216 - East Dunbartonshire Council Local Housing Strategy 2023-2028

    1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to inform Members that East Dunbartonshire Council Local Housing Strategy 2023-2028, is now available to customers on the Council’s website.
       
    2. The Local Housing Strategy sets out the Councils vision for all Housing related issues for 20232-2028 and includes an agreed action plan on how the Council will meet the set out aims of the strategy.
       

    Technical Notes 2023, Issue 217 - Local Government Settlement 2024-25

    1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to provide Members with an update following the Scottish Government’s proposed Budget for 2024-25 being announced to the Scottish Parliament.

    2. The Budget, currently in its draft form, has sought to prioritise and support people through the cost-of-living crisis, invest in frontline services, and tackle the climate emergency.  The Budget is focussed on three priority missions being those within communities, equalities and opportunity.
