All businesses produce waste. This ranges from small amounts of paper or kitchen waste to large scale industrial materials. It can be anything that you own, or that your business produces and that you want to dispose of.
Your business should establish a trade waste collection agreement with either East Dunbartonshire Council or any other registered waste carrier to enable you to dispose of your waste legally.
The law requires that commercial premises must separate:
- metals, plastics, glass, paper and card from the rest of your business waste
- food waste, if you produce over 5kg of food waste per week
While it is your responsibility to ensure that your waste is handled in line with the law the Council aims to assist businesses.
