East Dunbartonshire is full of people who volunteer, fundraise, organise and the Provost wants to once again recognise those that make an outstanding contribution locally.
Provost Gillian Renwick launched the Provost’s Community Champion Awards in 2023 and now they are back for 2025 to acknowledge and thank people for the work they do.
The Awards acknowledge the inspiring work of local people who are nominated by friends, family, neighbours and colleagues for the wonderful and invaluable work they do to support others and improve their local area.
Nominations for the 2025 Community Champion Awards are now welcome in the following six categories:
- Community Champion
- Young Champion
- Caring Champion
- Sports Champion
- Arts & Heritage Champion
- Sustainability Champion.
Provost Renwick said, “Over the past two years both the Depute Provost and I have loved reading all the nominations and meeting the winners from across East Dunbartonshire.
“There is so much fabulous work being carried out across the area and usually from people who are too humble to shout about it!
“That’s where the Community Champion Awards come in.
This is your chance to nominate someone who lives, works or attends a school in East Dunbartonshire who you believe is making a difference in our communities and bringing about positive change.
“All nominations must be received by 5pm on Friday 6 June – then the Depute Provost and I will have the difficult but lovely job of judging the nominations. The winners will be announced on Monday 16 June.
“So please if you know someone who you would like to see honoured and acknowledged for the work they do please fill out a nomination form.”
To be considered for an Award, nominees must live, work or attend school or college in East Dunbartonshire.
