Retired Kirkintilloch GP, Dr Elizabeth Swain, and a small group of passionate mental health advocates set up a fundraising project to create a permanent local memorial for patients of Woodilee Hospital who were buried in the unmarked hospital common grave or the common grave in the Auld Aisle Cemetery.
Provost Gillian Renwick was invited to join local religious leaders and Dr Elizabeth Swain at the unveiling of cairn in Auld Aisle Cemetery which honours these past members of our community.
