Are you involved in a community group carrying out great work in East Dunbartonshire? Perhaps you’ve got a good idea to help local people or inspire change.
A Funder Fair is being held by East Dunbartonshire Council at the Kirkintilloch Campus of New College Lanarkshire – 50 Southbank Road, G66 1NH – on Thursday (10 September) from 4pm-7pm.
It aims to help local community groups and not-for-profit organisations to access advice, potential funding and opportunities.
Representatives will include The National Lottery, Development Trusts Association Scotland, Corra, Creative Scotland, Co-op, sportscotland and East Dunbartonshire Voluntary Action.

There will also be information on the Council’s new Local Community Grant Fund, which aims to empower the unsung heroes working within East Dunbartonshire’s towns and villages.
Councillor Gordan Low, Leader of the Council, said,
We hope as many organisations as possible can attend the ever-popular Funder Fair, which is now in its third year.
“As well as liaising directly with potential sources of support, groups can also learn more about our Local Community Grant Fund, which is currently accepting applications.
“Even small ideas can make a huge difference – come along and find out more.”

Organisations can apply for up to £4,000 from the Council’s Local Community Grant Fund to finance projects that:
- Bring people together
- Improve wellbeing
- Reduce isolation
- Support children, young people and/or families
- Help people who may face barriers to taking part.
The closing date for the first round of funding is 21 September 2026.
Applications are being invited from groups that have a constitution and a bank account, are not for profit, can provide independently verified accounts and strive to bring benefits to residents of East Dunbartonshire.
