East Dunbartonshire Local Community Grant Fund
Whether your project is big or small – the new East Dunbartonshire Local Community Grant Fund could help you make a huge difference.
Groups working at the heart of local towns and villages are being offered the chance to secure a funding boost for a special project.
The Council’s Local Community Grant Fund aims to have a positive impact across East Dunbartonshire.
Organisations can apply for total funding up to a maximum of £4,000 to finance projects which:
- Bring people together
- Improve wellbeing
- Reduce isolation
- Support children, young people or families
- Help people who may face barriers to taking part.
The closing date for round one is 21 September 2026. It is envisaged a second round will open in early 2027.
Applications are being invited from groups that have a constitution and a bank account, are not for profit, can provide independently-verified accounts and aim to bring benefits to residents of East Dunbartonshire.

The East Dunbartonshire Local Community Grant Fund is a new initiative and not connected with the previous grants scheme which ran for many years.
We know that applying for funding can sometimes feel daunting, especially for small or volunteer-led groups, so we're here to help.

We are keen to hear from local groups that have an idea which will make a difference in their community. The project does not need to be large or complex – small ideas can make a huge difference.
Outcomes are expected around 17 December 2026, with payments due to be processed in January 2027. Please note, grants cannot be used to fund projects which have already taken place – such as events in December 2026.
Applications are assessed by the Grants Advisory Committee, which makes recommendations for awards to the Community Planning Partnership (CPP) Board.
The CPP includes representatives of the Council, East Dunbartonshire Voluntary Action, the Health and Social Care Partnership, the Leisure and Culture Trust, Police Scotland and other organisations providing public services locally.
The East Dunbartonshire Local Community Grant Fund replaces the previous Community Grants Scheme.
Monitoring is keeping track of what happened during your project, such as what you delivered, who took part and whether anything changed.
Evaluation is thinking about the difference your project made, what you learned and what you would do differently next time.
