Householders in East Dunbartonshire can now apply for garden waste permits for the 2026 green bin collection service.

The annual permit costs £52 per green bin and provides 19 fortnightly collections from March to November. A valid garden waste permit must be clearly displayed on the green bin for it to be emptied.

Permits can be applied for online by visiting the Council’s website

Alternatively, residents can call Customer Services on 0300 123 4510 or apply in person at one of the Council’s Community Hubs.

Councillor Paul Ferretti, Convener of the Council’s Place, Neighbourhood and Corporate Assets Committee, said, “It takes up to 14 days for a permit to arrive, so I would encourage residents to apply as early as possible to avoid any disruption to their garden waste collections.

“Residents who choose not to purchase a permit can continue to dispose of garden waste free of charge at Mavis Valley Household Waste Recycling Centre.”
