After successfully delivering free National 5 Application of Maths courses to adult learners for the first time in 2025/26, East Dunbartonshire Council’s Count Me In team will be running courses at community centres across East Dunbartonshire, starting this September.

The National 5 Applications of Maths course is the study of maths in real-life contexts. It focuses on the areas of numeracy, finance, statistics, measurement and geometry and aims to equip learners with the mathematical skills and knowledge needed in everyday life – both personally and in the workplace.

Convener of Education, Councillor Lynda Williamson

Convener of Education, Councillor Lynda Williamson, said, “I’m delighted that following on from last year’s success we are running free National 5 Application of Maths courses again this academic year in community centres in Bishopbriggs, Kirkintilloch and Milngavie.

“This is an excellent opportunity for local adults looking to obtain a National 5 Application of Maths qualification, whether to brush up their mathematical skills or in pursuit of a job or to gain access to further study.  Feedback from previous Count Me In learners is extremely positive, with many highlighting the benefits of the small class sizes and supportive environment.

“The classes start soon, so if you are interested, please get in touch with the Count Me In team as soon as possible and secure your place.”
