Employee News 2024, Issue 22 - Have Your Say – Budget Consultation 2025/2026
Each year the Council is legally required to set a balanced budget. For over a decade now, we have had to make significant savings each year to do so.
A continued challenge is that the cost of delivering Council services and the demand for these services have both increased, while funding levels have not risen to meet these pressures.
The cost of ensuring these services continue to be provided for our residents is approximately £322 million. As we prepare to set our Budget for 2025/26, we continue to face a significant funding gap.
In our strategic planning approach, 'East Dunbartonshire Forward in Partnership', we committed to engaging with our communities on our decision making.
In this Budget consultation survey, we are seeking your views, especially those of you who live in East Dunbartonshire, on what is most important to you.
The views and feedback gathered as part of this consultation will be reviewed and shared with both Officers and Elected Members which will then inform decisions taken at Council in February.
The consultation is now live and will run until Thursday 19 September.
You can complete the survey online at Budget Consultation 2025/26.
