Strike Action in Schools

Details:
- Further to technical note 024-23, advising of the teaching unions participating in national strike action on 28 February and 1 March, it has been confirmed that AHDS has accepted the latest pay offer, with SSTA standing down from strike action to allow for further negotiations.
- Following consultation with its membership, NASUWT is continuing with strike action along with EIS.
- Technical note 024-23 noted schools impacted by the Targeted Action by EIS in Milngavie and Bearsden on 22-24 February and 7-9 March. The EIS has now advised the Council that Bearsden Primary will also be included in the list of schools noted for targeted strike action on 7-9 March (inclusive).
- The EIS has also announced further rolling strike dates across councils. Similar to previous action, their approach is to target Primary and Secondary schools on separate days, with an all-out approach on a set day, resulting in the following dates in which schools in this Council area will be impacted and likely close;
- Primary Schools - 18 April
- Primary and Secondary - 19 April
- Secondary Schools – 20 April
- Parents and staff in Bearsden Primary will be updated through the usual direct communication channels and our school strike action webpage will be updated.
- Further updates in relation to the ongoing teachers’ pay dispute will be communicated as they become available.
