Details: 

1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to share with Members the Chief Constable’s Annual Licensing Report for 2021-2022 which was presented to the Licensing Board on 25 November 2022 in accordance with the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 (the “Act”).

2.  The Act provides that the Chief Constable is obliged to issue the Licensing Board an annual report setting out:

  • The Chief Constable’s views about matters relating to policing in connection with the operation of the Act in the Board’s area during the year and the following year; and
  • Any steps the Chief Constable has taken during the year, and intends to take in the following year to prevent the sale or supply of alcohol to children or young people in the Board’s area.

3. The Licensing Board noted the contents of the report and instructed the Clerk to the Licensing Board to share the report with all Members of the Council.
