Details:
  1. Members were advised in Technical Note 210 on 19 December 2022 of strike action by a number of teaching unions on 10 and 11 January.
  2. It also advised that EIS will be taking further action in January and February over a series of dates across all local authorities, with the next notified date being Friday 20 January.
  3. To confirm, this will result in all East Dunbartonshire primary, secondary and ASN school being closed to pupils on Friday 20 January.
  4. In line with our usual practice, operational arrangements are being communicated to all school-based staff, teaching and non-teaching, including those not covered by the Teaching Unions strike mandates.
  5. Schools will communicate that they are closed to pupils through their usual communication channels, and further reminders will be issued through the Council’s social media channels, linking to our school strike action webpage.
  6. East Dunbartonshire Early Years Centres will remain open on 20 January with the exception of Campsie View.
  7. Further updates in relation to the ongoing teachers’ pay dispute will be communicated as they become available.
