    Notice of Bishopbriggs Relief Road and Wester Lumloch Road, Bishopbriggs (40 mph Speed Limit) Amendment Order 2025

    On 16 September 2025 the East Dunbartonshire Council, in accordance with their powers under s84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers, made the above order which comes into operation on 03 November 2025. The Order as proposed was advertised in the edition of the Bishopbriggs Herald published on 28 May 2025. The main effect of the Order is the amendment of the East Dunbartonshire Council (B812, Auchinairn Road and Bishopbriggs Relief Road) (30 mph and 40 mph Speed Limits) Order 2003 to amend the length of the Bishopbriggs Relief Road and Wester Lumloch Road to which a 40 mph speed limit applies.

    Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any provision therein on grounds that the Order is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any relevant Regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks from 16 September 2025, make an application to the Court of Session for this purpose.

    Bishopbriggs Relief Road And Wester Lumloch Road, Bishopbriggs 40 Mph Speed Limit Amendment Order 2025

    The East Dunbartonshire Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Constable of the Police Service of Scotland in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act hereby make the following Order:

    • This Order may be cited as “The East Dunbartonshire Council (Bishopbriggs Relief Road and Wester Lumloch Road, Bishopbriggs) (40 mph Speed Limit) Amendment Order 2025” and shall come into operation on 03 November 2025
    • The Order specified in Schedule 1 to this Order shall have effect subject to the amendments specified in that Schedule.

    Schedule 1

    Name of Order to be Amended

    The East Dunbartonshire Council (B812, Auchinairn Road and Bishopbriggs Relief Road) (30 and 40mph Speed Limits) Order 2003.

    Extent of Amendment

    Delete paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 of the Order and replace with the following wording:

    That length of Bishopbriggs Relief Road and Wester Lumloch Road from a point 21 metres south of the extended south kerbline of the B812 Auchinairn Road northwards for a distance of 113 metres including Auchinairn Roundabout.
