Emergency road works
- Reason for emergency closure: Scottish Water is presently carrying out emergency works to a burst water
- Town: Bearsden
- Road affected: the A810 Duntocher Road at its junction with Ledi Drive.
- Duration: These works are expected to be in place for approximately one week from today 24 July 2025
- Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, the existing traffic signals have been switched off and temporary four way traffic signals incorporating pedestrian crossing facilities are presently being used to control movements on Duntocher Road at its junction with Ledi Drive and Nithsdale Crescent, Bearsden.
The temporary traffic signals are being manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day. The use of temporary traffic signals may result in delays to traffic in the area.

Alternative routes, Vehicles on the north side of the closure should proceed southwestwards then southwards on the A803 Kirkintilloch Road then eastwards on Colston Road then northwards and eastwards on the B812 Auch-inairn Road then northwards on Crowhill Road to the south side of the closure.

- Reason for closure: Contractor carrying out various groundworks including the formation of a new access. These works are associated with the new Cala Housing Development presently under construction. There are also repairs being carried out on the existing former railway bridge on Chryston Road, due to corrosion discovered during the site investigation
- Road affected: Chryston Road, Fauldhead, at a location to the east of its junction with Market Road, Kirkintilloch
- Duration: Sunday 22 September 2024 until 6pm on 17 September 2025
- Notes: In order to prevent danger to the public arising from damage to the structural integrity of the bridge over the former railway bridge and for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, East Dunbartonshire Council will require to extend the existing temporary road closure on Chryston Road Fauldhead, between its junctions with Market Road, Kirkintilloch, and Sauchenhall Road/Muckcroft Road from 6pm on Sunday 22 September 2024 until 6pm on Friday 31 March 2025
Alternative routes are be by of Sauchenhall Road, Gartshore Road, Mollins Road, the B8048 Waterside Road, Market Road, Kirkintilloch, Calfmuir Road, and Muckcroft Road, and these routes are presently being sign posted

- Town: Kirkintilloch
- Roads affected: Cowgate, West High Street, Union Street, David Donnelly Place, and Broadcroft
- Notes:
A section of Cowgate and West High Street will be closed between their respective junctions with Catherine Street/Kerr Street and Achill Place, from 12.01am on Friday 15 August 2025 until 6am on Monday 18 August 2025. The alternative routes for vehicles are by way of Catherine Street, Cowgate, Townhead, Parliament Road, the A806 New Lairdsland Road, the A803 Glasgow Road, and West High Street, Kirkintilloch, and these routes will be sign posted.
A section of Union Street will be closed between its junctions with Cowgate and York Place, from 12.01am on Friday 15 August 2025 until 6am on Monday 18 August 2025. The alternative routes will be sign posted by way of Kerr Street, Oxford Street, Union Street and Washington Road.
A section of David Donnelly Place will be closed, from its junction with Cowgate, northeastwards for a distance of 30 metres or thereby, from 12.01am on Friday 15 August 2025 until 6am on Monday 18 August 2025. There are no alternative routes available.
Broadcroft will be closed between its junctions with Cowgate and David Donnelly Place, from 12.01am on Friday 15 August 2025 until 6am on Monday 18 August 2025. There are no alternative routes available.
Access to the closed sections of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the event activities.
As part of the Kirkintilloch Town Centre Event, East Dunbartonshire Council also require to temporarily suspend the existing one way operation, on the following section of road, contained within the provisions of Schedule 17 of the "East Dunbartonshire Council (Kirkintilloch) (Traffic Management Scheme) Order 2017, under the heading for Broadcroft, from the extended northeast kerbline of Cowgate northeastwards to the extended southwest kerbline of David Donnelly Place. This will allow two way operation on the above named road, which will be controlled by way of banksmen/event traffic management operatives.

As part of the above works, temporary two way traffic signals will also be used to control traffic movements on Tannoch Drive at its junction with Heathfield Drive, Milngavie.

- Notes: On Tuesday, 29 July 2025 the East Dunbartonshire Council made a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which makes it unlawful for any person to cause or permit any vehicle, with the exception of school buses, to wait or load or unload in the length of road specified in the Schedule by reason of the likelihood of danger to the public, as school buses will be dropping off school pupils due to the temporary decant of pupils from Milngavie Primary School to Torrance Primary School.

Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, a section of the existing footpath will require to be closed between Freeland Place/Luggiebank Road northeastwards for a distance of 55 metres or thereby at the existing underpass beneath the A806 New Lairdsland Road, Kirkintilloch, which runs adjacent to the Forth and Clyde Canal, from 06.00 hours on Monday 23 June 2025 until 18.00 hours on Sunday 3 August 2025.
Alternative routes for pedestrian will be by way of existing footpath network within Luggie Park, the existing underpass near the A806 Initiative Road/Parliament Road, existing footways on Parliament Road, Townhead, and Freeland Place, Kirkintilloch, and these routes will be sign posted.
