  • Reason for closure: A contractor is to carry out a new water connection 
  • Road affected: Stirling Drive, between its junctions with Devon Gardens and Southesk Avenue
  • Duration: from 6am on Tuesday 7 April 2026 until 11.59pm on Sunday 19 April 2026, during the school easter holidays
  • Notes: Alternative routes will be by way of Devon Gardens, Muirton Drive, Stirling Drive, Faskally Avenue, Stirling Drive, Southesk Avenue, and Broadleys Avenue, Bishopbriggs, and these routes will be sign posted. Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.  Their will be no access through the closed section of road for emergency service vehicles.

  • Reason for closure: To assist with East Dunbartonshire Council Roads Operations carriageway patching works on the A806 New Lairdsland Road
  • Road affected: Catherine Street between its junctions with New Lairdsland Road and David Donnelly Place
  • Duration: from 6am until 6pm on Sundays 15 and 22 March 2026
  • Notes: Alternative routes will be by way of Catherine Street, Cowgate, West High Street, the A803 Glasgow Road, the A806 New Lairdsland Road, Parliament Road, and Townhead, Kirkintilloch, and these routes will be sign posted. All classes of vehicle prohibited except emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

  • Reason for closure: Contractor carrying out various groundworks including the formation of a new access. These works are associated with the new Cala Housing Development presently under construction. There are also repairs being carried out on the existing former railway bridge on Chryston Road, due to corrosion discovered during the site investigation
  • Road affected: Chryston Road, Fauldhead, at a location to the east of its junction with Market Road, Kirkintilloch
  • Duration: 11.59pm on Wednesday 17 September 2025 until 11.59 pm on Friday 17 April 2026
  •  Notes: In oder to prevent danger to the public arising from damage to the structural integrity of the bridge over the former railway bridge and for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, East Dunbartonshire Council will require to extend the existing temporary road closure on Chryston Road Fauldhead, between its junctions with Market Road, Kirkintilloch, and Sauchenhall Road/Muckcroft Road from 6pm on Sunday 22 September 2024 until 6pm on Friday 31 March 2025
    Alternative routes are be by of Sauchenhall Road, Gartshore Road, Mollins Road, the B8048 Waterside Road, Market Road, Kirkintilloch, Calfmuir Road, and Muckcroft Road, and these routes are presently being sign posted
    Access to the closed section of road is presently only maintained for vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent the closed section of road. There is no access through the closed section of road for emergency service vehicles

  • Road affected: Ivanhoe Drive between its junction with Lily Gardens and McFarlane Place, Kirkintilloch
  • Duration: 9.30am until 6pm on Friday 3 April
  • Notes: Alternative routes are by way of Ivanhoe Drive, Newdyke Road, Redbrae Road, Kenilworth Road, 
    Friars Croft, Lammermoor Road, and Woodstock Avenue, Kirkintilloch, and these routes will be sign posted.

  • Reason for closure: East Dunbartonshire Council Roads Service is to carry out carriageway resurfacing works 
  • Town: Kirkintilloch
  • Road affected: A803 Kilsyth Road, Kirkintilloch, between its junctions with Lanfine Drive and the B8023 Shirva Road, Kirkintilloch
  • Duration: from 6am on Sunday 26 April 2026 until 11.59pm on Sunday 10 May 2026
  • Notes: Alternative routes, will be by way of the A803 Kilsyth Road, Kirkintilloch, the A891 Antermony Road, the B757 Birdston Road, Milton of Campsie, the B757 Milton Road, the A803 Glasgow Road, the A806 New Lairdsland Road, the B8048 Waterside Road, Kirkintilloch, the B8048, Auchinstarry Road, Howe Road, the B802 Airdrie Road, and the A803 Glasgow Road, Kilsyth, and these routes will be sign posted.

Scheduled temporary traffic management

  • Reason for traffic management: East Dunbartonshire Council Roads Operation is to carry out works associated with the installation of a new pedestrian crossing facility
  • Town: Bearsden
  • Road affected: A810 Duntocher Road near College Gate
  • Duration: from 9.30am on Monday 9 March 2026 for approximately two weeks
  • Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary five way traffic signals incorporating pedestrian crossing facilities as required will be used to control traffic movements on Duntocher Road at the exit from the existing Petrol Garage, College Gate and the vehicular access/exit to St Nicholas Primary School, Bearsden. The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day. The use of temporary traffic signals may result in delays to traffic in the area.

  • Reason for traffic management: Filming works associated with the new series of Shetland
  • Town: Baldernock 
  • Road affected: Craigmaddie Road at its junctions with Dowan Road and Tower Road, Baldernock
  • Duration: from 6.30am until 4pm on Thursday 9 April 2026, during the school Easter holidays
  • Notes: In order for  filming works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary four way traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements. The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at all times.

  • Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, the existing traffic signals will require to be switched off and temporary four way traffic signals incorporating pedestrian crossing facilities will be used. The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.

  • Duration: from 9.30am on Monday 6 April 2026 for approximately two weeks, during the school easter holidays
  • Notes: .  In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, the existing traffic signals will require to be switched off and temporary four way traffic signals incorporating pedestrian crossing facilities will be used to control traffic movements.The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.

  • Road affected: Wester Cleddens Road at its junction with Abbotsford at the mini-roundabout
  • Duration: from 10am until 1pm on Thursday 19 March 2026
  • Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, the existing pedestrian crossing facility will require to be switched off and temporary four way traffic signals incorporating a pedestrian crossing facility will be used to control traffic movements on Wester Cleddens Road at its junction with Abbotsford and the access road at St. Dominic’s RC Church at the mini-roundabout. The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at all times.

  • Road affected: Cowgate at its junction with Catherine Street
  • Duration: from 9.30am on Thursday 26 March 2026 for approximately two weeks
  • Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, the existing pedestrian crossing facilities will require to be switched off and temporary four way traffic signals incorporating pedestrian crossing facilities will be used to control traffic movements on Cowgate at its junctions with Catherine Street and Kerr Street. The temporary traffic will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.

  • Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary three way traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements on Waterside Road at its junction with Loch Road, Kirkintilloch, from 9.30am on Monday 23 March 2026 for approximately two weeks. The temporary traffic will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.

  • Duration: from Tuesday 6 January for approx 6 months
  • Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, rolling temporary traffic signals incorporating temporary pedestrian crossing facilities as required will be used to control traffic movements.

  • Road affected: Twechar Road at the vehicular access to Brewster Brothers
  • Duration: from 9.30am until 3.30pm on Monday 23 March 2026
  • Notes: In order In for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary three way traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements on Twechar Road at the vehicular access to Brewster Brothers, near Twechar.
    The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at all times.  The use of temporary traffic signals may result in delays to traffic in the area.
