Road closures and road works

Alternative routes will be by way of the A803 Kirkintilloch Road, the A807 Torrance Road and Balmore Road, the A879 Balmore Road, Balmuildy Road and Hilton Road, Bishopbriggs, and these routes will be sign posted. Internal local diversion routes will also be sign posted.

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

Alternative routes are by of Union Street, Cowgate, West High Street, the A803 Glasgow Road, Washington Road, Bellfield Road, Northbank Road and Alexandra Street, Kirkintilloch, and these routes will be sign posted.

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works. There will be no access through the closed section of road for emergency service vehicles.

Alternative routes are by way of Loch Road, the B8048 Waterside Road, the A806 Initiative Road, Kirkintilloch and MacGavigans Road, Lenzie, and these routes will be sign posted.

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

Alternative routes will be by of the A81 Strathblane Road and Glasgow Road, the A807 Auchenhowie Road, Milngavie, the A807 Balmore Road and Craigmaddie Road, and these routes will be sign posted. 

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

Alternative routes will be by of the A81, the A807 though Milngavie and Balmore, the B822 through Torrance, and the A891 through Lennoxtown, and these routes will be sign posted. The B8030 and the B8050 through Milngavie, the A809, and the B834 near Croftamie, will also be sign posted.

Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.

There are no alternative routes.

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, the existing pedestrian crossing facility will require to be switched off and temporary four way traffic signals incorporating a pedestrian crossing facility will be used to control traffic movement on Craigdhu Road at its junctions with Drumcarn Drive and Dumgoyne Avenue, Milngavie, from 9.30am on Monday 1 June 2026 for approximately five days.  The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day. 

In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary two way traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements on Birdston Road at its junction with Greta Meek Lane, Milton of Campsie, from 9.30am until 3.30pm on Wednesday 27 May 2026. The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at all times.

As part of the above BT works, Greta Meek Lane, Milton of Campsie, will also be closed at its junction with Birdston Road, Milton of Campsie, from 9.30am until 3.30pm on Wednesday 27 May 2026.  

• Kessington Road (North) from a point 30 metres or thereby east of the extended east kerbline of MacFarlane Road eastwards for a distance of 242 metres or thereby to its junction with Clathic Avenue and Killermont Road at the mini roundabout
• Rannoch Drive (Northeast) from a point 30 metres northwest of the extended west kerbline of Lochaber Road north-westwards for a distance of 140 metres or thereby
• Clunty Avenue (North) from its junction with Rannoch Drive, north-westwards for a distance of 120 metres or thereby.

• That section of Cairns Drive from its junction with Buchanan Street and its junction with Hillcrest Street, Milngavie (Southeast)
• That section of Cairns Drive from the point opposite the centreline of its junction with Hillcrest Street northwards for a distance of 114 metres or thereby (Northwest)
