• Road affected: A809 Drymen Road south of its junction with Thorn Drive
• Duration:  from today 20 January 2026 for approximately one week
• Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary two way traffic signals are being used to control traffic movements on Drymen Road at the works location. The temporary traffic signals are being manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.

• Road affected: Shirva Road between its junction with the A803 Kilsyth Road and its junction with Auchendavie Road
• Duration: from 4.45pm until 11.59pm hours on Wednesday 28 January 2026
• Notes: All classes of vehicle prohibited except vehicles engaged in the works. Alternative routes will be by of the A803 Kilsyth Road, Gavell Road, and the B8023 Shirva Road, Twechar, and these routes will be sign posted.

• Reason for emergency works: Scottish Power is presently carrying out emergency repairs to a cable fault
• Town: Milton of Campsie
• Road affected: B757 Birdston Road north of its junction with Redmoss Road, Milton of Campsie
• Duration: It is not known at this time the duration of the emergency works
• Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary three way traffic signals are being used to control traffic movements on Birdston Road at the most southern access to Birdston Service Road, Milton of Campsie. The temporary traffic signals are being manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.

• Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary three way traffic signals are presently being used to control traffic movements on Main Street at its junction with St Johns Way, Twechar. The temporary traffic signals are being manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.

• Road affected: Ralston Road, between its junctions with the A809 Drymen Road and Russell Drive, Bearsden
• Duration: 6am on Sunday 25 January 2026 until 6pm on Sunday 1 February 2026
• Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, East Dunbartonshire Council will require to close Ralston Road, Bearsden, between its junctions with the A809 Drymen Road and Russell Drive. 

  Alternative routes will be by of the A809 Drymen Road, Gartconnell Drive, Gartconnell Road, and Russell Drive, Bearsden, and these routes will be sign posted.

• Road affected: Roman Road, between its junctions with the A81 Milngavie Road and its junction with Roman Drive, Bearsden
• Duration: 6am on Wednesday 21 January 2026 until 11.59pm on Sunday 25 January 2026
• Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner,  all ( except vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works). 

  Alternative routes will be by of the A81 Milngavie Road, MacFarlane Road, Canniesburn Toll Roundabout, the A809 Drymen Road, Roman Road and Roman Drive, Bearsden, and these routes will be sign posted. 

• Reason for closure: Scottish Water is to carry out sewer repair works 
• Road affected: Kenmure Avenue between its junction with tBrackenbrae Road and Pollok Drive, Bishopbriggs
• Duration: from 6am on Monday 26January 2026 until 6pm on 
  Monday 2 February 2026.
• Notes: All classes of vehicle prohibited (except emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when practical and safe to do so during the works). Alternative routes will be by way of Brackenbrae Road, Beaufort Gardens, Pollok Drive and Kenmure Gardens, Bishopbriggs, and these routes will be sign posted. 

• Reason for closure: EDC Roads Service is to carry out carriageway resurfacing works 
• Town: Croy
• Road affected: Auchinstarry Road, near Croy, between the East Dunbartonshire Council/North Lanarkshire Council Boundary at the railway viaduct and a point just south of Drumglass Steadings
• Duration: from 6am on Sunday 8 February 2026 until 6pm on 
  Sunday 15 February 2026
• Notes: All classes of vehicle prohibited (except emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when practical and safe to do so during the works). Alternative routes are by of Auchinstarry Road, Smithstone Road, the B802 Constarry Road, and Howe Road, and these routes will be sign posted. 

• Reason for closure: Contractor carrying out various groundworks including the formation of a new access. These works are associated with the new Cala Housing Development presently under construction. There are also repairs being carried out on the existing former railway bridge on Chryston Road, due to corrosion discovered during the site investigation
• Road affected: Chryston Road, Fauldhead, at a location to the east of its junction with Market Road, Kirkintilloch
• Duration: 11.59pm on Wednesday 17 September 2025 until 11.59 pm on Tuesday 17 March 2026
• Notes: In order to prevent danger to the public arising from damage to the structural integrity of the bridge over the former railway bridge and for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, East Dunbartonshire Council will require to extend the existing temporary road closure on Chryston Road Fauldhead, between its junctions with Market Road, Kirkintilloch, and Sauchenhall Road/Muckcroft Road from 6pm on Sunday 22 September 2024 until 6pm on Friday 31 March 2025
  Alternative routes are be by of Sauchenhall Road, Gartshore Road, Mollins Road, the B8048 Waterside Road, Market Road, Kirkintilloch, Calfmuir Road, and Muckcroft Road, and these routes are presently being sign posted
  Access to the closed section of road is presently only maintained for vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent the closed section of road. There is no access through the closed section of road for emergency service vehicles

• Reason for closure: EDC Roads Service is to carry out carriageway resurfacing works 
• Road affected: Southbank Drive, between its junctions with Southbank Drive and Donaldson Street
• Duration: from 6am hours on Sunday 15 February 2026 until 6pm hours on Sunday 22 February 2026
• Notes: The alternative routes are by way of Southbank Drive, Townhead, Cowgate, Catherine Street, the A806 New Lairdsland Road, Parliament Road, the B757 Lenzie Road, Donaldson Street, and Marina Way, Kirkintilloch, and these routes will be sign posted. 
  
  Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so during the works.
  
  The temporary road closure will be carried out under two phase to allow access to Sainsbury’s and also to Strathkelvin Place, Kirkintilloch.

• Road affected: Westergreens Avenue between its junction with Parkburn Avenue and its junction with Westergreens Avenue
• Duration: from 8am on Monday 2 February 2026 until 8pm on Friday 6 February 2026

• Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner,.  temporary two way traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements on Milngavie Road at its junction with Kilmardinny Avenue, Bearsden.

  As part of the above works, Kilmardinny Avenue, Bearsden, will also be closed at its junction with the A81 Milngavie Road, Bearsden.

• Duration: 9.30am on Monday 9 February 2026 for approximately 5 days

• Reason for temporary traffic management: SPEN is to carry out cabling works on Canniesburn Road

• Road affected: Canniesburn Road at its junction with Tweed Drive, Bearsden
• Duration: 9.30am on Monday 12 January 2026 for approximately two weeks
• Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary three way traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements on Canniesburn Road at its junction with Tweed Drive, Bearsden. The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.

• Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, rolling temporary three and four way traffic signals incorporating pedestrian crossing facilities as required will be used to control traffic movements on Roman Road, Bearsden, between its junctions with the A809 Drymen Road and the A81 Milngavie Road, Bearsden. The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each night.

• Road affected: Stockiemuir Avenue near its junction with Roxburgh Drive

• Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary three way traffic signals incorporating pedestrian crossing facilities as required will be used. The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at peak times, Mondays to Fridays.

• Road affected: Whitehill Road near its junction with Ledcameroch Road
• Duration: from 9.30am on Monday 26 January 2026 for approximately two weeks
• Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary three way traffic signals incorporating pedestrian crossing facilities as required will be used. The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at peak times, Mondays to Fridays.

• Reason for traffic management: BT is to carry out cabling works

• Road affected: Angus Avenue at the unnamed service road
• Duration: from 9.30am on Thursday 22 January 2026 for approximately one week
• Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, the existing pedestrian crossing facility will require to be switched off and temporary three way traffic signals incorporating pedestrian crossing facilities will be used to control traffic movements. The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at peak times, each day.

• Reason for traffic management: Cityfibre is to carry out ducting works
• Town: Bishopbriggs
• Road affected: Westerhill Road at its junction with Wellington Road, Bishopbriggs
• Duration: 9.30am until 3.30pm, each day, from Tuesday 3 February 2026 for approximately one week
• Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary four way traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements on Westerhill Road at its junctions with Wellington Road and Dalkeith Avenue, Bishopbriggs, from 9.30am until 3.30pm, each day, from Tuesday 3 February 2026 for approximately one week. The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at all times between.

• Duration: from 9.30am until 4pm on Tuesday 3 February 2026
• Notes:  In orrder for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporaIy four way traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements on Douglas Muir Road at its junction with Stockiemuir Road and the vehicular access to the Quarry at Crossburn Roundabout, Milngavie.
  The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at all times.  The use of temporary traffic signals may result in delays to traffic in the area.

• Road affected: A891 Campsie Road at its junctions with Antermony Road and the B757 Birdston Road
• Duration: from 9.30am on Monday 16 February 2026 for approximately two weeks
• Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner the existing traffic signals will require to be switched off and temporary three way traffic signals incorporating pedestrian crossing facilities will be used to control traffic movements. The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.  The use of temporary traffic signals may result in delays to traffic in the area.

Advance warning notification signs will be erected on street one week prior to the start of the works.

• Reason for traffic management: Roads Operations have installed temporary two way traffic signals due to a section of flooding on the existing carriageway
• Town: Twechar
• Road affected: Twechar Road between Drumgrew Bridge and MacDonald Crescent
• Duration: from Wednesday 14 Janujary until further notice.
• Notes: Temporary two way traffic signals will be be in place on Twechar Road between Drumgrew Bridge and MacDonald Crescent Twechar.

• Duration: Thursday 14 August 2025 until Friday 12 February 2027 and will be effective between 8.30am and 9.30am and between 2.30pm and 3.30pm, Monday to Friday
• Notes: On Tuesday, 29 July 2025 the East Dunbartonshire Council made a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which makes it unlawful for any person to cause or permit any vehicle, with the exception of school buses, to wait or load or unload in the length of road specified in the Schedule by reason of the likelihood of danger to the public, as school buses will be dropping off school pupils due to the temporary decant of pupils from Milngavie Primary School to Torrance Primary School. 

Temporary footpath restriction:  That length of unnamed footpath which runs between the A810 Duntocher Road and Castlehill Road, Bearsden to allow Comex cabling works
