Important announcement

Due to operational issues we have had to suspend our food waste collection service for a number of streets in Milngavie and Bishopbriggs today.

If your food waste bin is not collected today, please take in your bin and present on the next collection day, Friday 14 November.

Brown and blue collections in a small number of streets in the Bishopbriggs and Kirkintilloch area are also affected. If your brown and blue bins has not been emptied today, please leave it on the kerbside for collection and it will be collected by the service at the earliest opportunity.

Our teams will be working hard to minimise the impact, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

There will be no charge for Instrumental Instruction from August 2024-June 2025. 

Please note that there will be a charge for registration and course fees etc for our Bands and Orchestras.

Yes. Instruments are available to borrow from the school for the first year of instruction, however after this period it may be necessary for your child to have their own instrument and any relevant materials. Details will be given to each child receiving tuition. East Dunbartonshire Council runs a “VAT-FREE” purchase scheme, whereby you can obtain an instrument at the educational discounted price and, in addition, without the need to pay the VAT, saving yourself a substantial amount on the retail price. Arrangements will be made for a slight adjustment in the timetable.

From August 2024 till June 2025, pupils will receive a minimum of 28 lessons unless they are absent or attend a residential music course.

If it is a one – off absence no action will be taken. If it is a long term absence, cover will be provided by the authority.
