Count Me In project
COUNT ME IN! The East Dunbartonshire Count Me In team offers a variety of numeracy and maths learning opportunities to local adults and families.

About the project
The Count Me In project is made up of two experienced primary school teachers from across the Council area and aims to help adults who want to:
- Further develop their maths skills for learning, life and work
- Increase their confidence with everyday numeracy through money management and cooking classes
- Support their child with their numeracy development
- Learn how schools now teach numeracy.
Invaluable experience, literally gone from feeling useless to having the confidence to make mistakes and keep going. I enjoyed the way the course was delivered and I appreciate their patience!
The Count Me In team is running a variety of FREE numeracy and maths classes for East Dunbartonshire residents:
- Who are aged 16-18 and not in education, employment, or training, or
- Who are aged 19 or over.
Classes are ongoing and are tailored to your needs so feel free to join us at any time! Exact times and locations will be added throughout the year.

Graham Bowman
“Having been teaching in East Dunbartonshire for over 15 years, I have loved helping children develop a positive attitude to numbers and maths through fun and exciting learning experiences. Since starting with the Count Me In project, I have relished working with a fantastic team in providing these same learning opportunities to adults and families. I especially enjoy seeing learners’ confidence being boosted by showing them different ways to think about maths and how they actually use it on a daily basis. I’m looking forward to continuing to expand Count Me In over the next year.”
Joy Roberts
"I have been teaching in East Dunbartonshire since the beginning of my career and enjoy sharing my love and enthusiasm for Numeracy. This project has given me the opportunity to work as part of a fantastic team to share this passion with adults and families across the Council area. I have particularly enjoyed delivering SQA qualifications and working with families to help them make maths fun! I have learned a lot from the people I have worked with and am looking forward to providing further courses.”
