Important announcement

Due to operational issues, regrettably, some of our food waste collections have been suspended. If your food caddy is not collected on its scheduled day, please take your bin in and present it on your next collection day. We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause and we’re working hard to remedy the situation.

The Council employs two Licensing Standards Officers.

Their role is to provide:

  • Guidance – Provide information, interact with Licensed trade /others
  • Compliance – Monitor and inspect premises, issue compliance notices, report premises to Licensing Board.
  • Mediation – Log complaints; discuss Licensing problems and disputes with premises and interested parties.

The Licensing Objectives

The Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 Section 4 details the five Licensing objectives:

  • Preventing Crime and Disorder
  • Securing Public Safety
  • Preventing Public Nuisance
  • Protecting and Improving Public Health
  • Protecting Children from Harm.
