How to become a Funded Provider

East Dunbartonshire based providers of early learning and childcare in the private, voluntary and independent sector, including Childminders, can apply to become a Funded Provider.

To become a Funded Provider, providers must meet the criteria set out in the Scottish Government National Standard for Early Learning and Childcare Providers, have a place available, and be willing to enter into a contract with East Dunbartonshire Council.

Early Years Centres wishing to apply will be required to complete a tender process which can be viewed on  Public Contract Scotland site. Childminders can apply for a tender application pack by emailing: procurement@eastdunbarton.gov.uk

If successful, applicants will become a Funded Provider and will be included on the East Dunbartonshire Council’s framework for early learning and childcare funded providers, and contact details will be updated on the Council’s webpage.

Funded providers contracted to the Council will ensure high quality early learning and childcare provision.  If, for any reason, including not meeting set standards, or if a funded provider cannot provide placements, they must fully cooperate with the Council to ensure children’s requirements continue to be met, and parents and carers are fully informed in relation to securing alternative arrangements for delivery of funded entitlement.

The Council will meet regularly throughout the contracted period with funded providers and will provide support, advice and training opportunities.

Parents and carers can apply directly to funded providers to secure a place for their child’s early learning and childcare hours.  Once a place is secured, the parent must apply to the Council for funding.
