Early Years

East Dunbartonshire Council is committed to providing high quality, flexible early learning and childcare that is accessible and affordable for all families.

In Scotland, all children aged three and four, and eligible children aged two, have a statutory entitlement to 1140 hours of funded early learning and childcare per year.  Children will receive a funded meal whilst attending their funded hours.

The Scottish Government Early Learning and Childcare Statutory Guidance [opens in a new window] supports Local Authorities to exercise their functions in relation to the delivery of early learning and childcare from 1 August 2021.
