THE EAST DUNBARTONSHIRE COUNCIL

(CANNIESBURN TOLL ROUNDABOUT, BEARSDEN)

(REDETERMINATION OF MEANS OF PASSAGE TO BE BY PEDAL CYCLE AND FOOT ONLY) ORDER 2024

On 8 February 2024 the East Dunbartonshire Council made an Order under the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 which comes into operation on Monday, 25 March 2024.

The proposed Order was advertised in the Milngavie and Bearsden Herald that was published on 23 June 2023. The effect of the Order would be to redetermine the means of the public right of passage over areas of the lengths of footways, as described in the Schedule hereto.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any provision therein on grounds that the Order is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any relevant Regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks from 8 February 2024 make application to the Court of Session for this purpose.

THE EAST DUNBARTONSHIRE COUNCIL

(CANNIESBURN TOLL ROUNDABOUT, BEARSDEN)

 (REDETERMINATION OF MEANS OF PASSAGE TO BE BY PEDAL CYCLE AND FOOT ONLY) ORDER 2024

The East Dunbartonshire Council in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 152(2) of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf hereby make the following Order.

  1. This Order may be cited as “The East Dunbartonshire Council (Canniesburn Toll Roundabout, Bearsden) (Redetermination Of Means Of Passage To Be By Pedal Cycle And Foot Only) Order 2024“ and shall come into operation on 25 March 2024;
     
  2. In this Order the following expressions have the meanings hereby assigned to them:-

 “Pedal cycle” has the same meaning as Section 151 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984

  1. The lengths of road in the area specified in the Schedule to this Order, at present footway, shall become cycle track the right of passage being exercisable on pedal cycle and foot only.
