From 24th September 2022, the Registrar General has given permission under sections 25 to 27 of the Coronavirus (Recovery and Reform) (Scotland) Act 2022 which enables remote birth (live and still-birth) and death registration [via telephone] to be an option across East Dunbartonshire. Obtaining a certificate of birth, death, marriage and civil partnership
Certificates of birth, death, marriage and civil partnership (official extracts from the register) can be obtained from any registration office in Scotland on payment of the appropriate statutory fee.
Information you should provide
- Births - Full name (at the time of registration), date and place of birth
- Death - Full name, date of death and place of death
- Marriage/Civil Partnerships - full names of both parties, date of marriage/civil partnership and place of marriage/civil partnership.
Certificates, can only be obtained from our Registration Offices based at our community hubs.
Registration fees and charges
The statutory fees for performing Civil Registration Services are generally set by the Registrar General for Scotland. Those fees set by the Council are kept to a minimum to cover administration/operating costs.
