Development Plan Scheme

The Scottish Government requires all planning authorities to prepare a Development Plan Scheme (DPS) at least annually.

The purpose of the DPS is to set out the planning authority's programme for preparing and reviewing its Local Development Plan. In particular, it sets out:

  • the proposed timetable
  • any changes or updates to the programme
  • details of what is likely to be involved at each stage of preparation
  • a Participation Statement outlining when, how and with whom consultation will take place

You can view the current East Dunbartonshire Development Plan Scheme 2023 as a Story Map here [opens in a new window]  Alternatively, reference copies of the DPS and Participation Statement are available to view in all public libraries within the Council area.
