Council Tax bands, charges and appeals

Council Tax Bands

The amount of Council Tax you pay depends on the valuation band for your home, which is determined by the Valuation Joint Board Assessor .

You can check the band for any domestic property in Scotland on the Scottish Assessors Association website.  If you have an enquiry about your Council Tax valuation band or want to appeal against the band for your property, you should contact the Valuation Joint Board:

Council Tax Charges

Your Council Tax bill includes the Council Tax charge for your property band and also charges for water supply and waste water which we collect on behalf of Scottish Water.

The Council Tax charge in East Dunbartonshire has risen by 3% for 2017/18.  The water supply and waste water charges are 1.6% higher than the amount you paid last year (2016/17).

In addition in 2017/18 the Scottish Government have changed the multipliers for properties in Band E to Band H.
