The Free Period Product Act came in to force on Monday 15 August 2022 meaning councils and education providers are now required by law to provide free period products.

Free period products have been available throughout East Dunbartonshire schools since 2018 and in community locations across the area since 2019 as part of a nation-wide commitment to tackling period poverty.

Consultation

A consultation exercise took place between 30 June and 22 July 2022. A link to the results will be published here once they have been analysed, and the findings will inform future provision in the area. School-based consultation will inform future school provision.
