Corporate Procurement

Value for Money

The Council spends more than £100 million a year on a diverse range of goods, services and works programmes, representing significant opportunities for a variety of organisations across the business sector.

As residents have a right to expect that their money is spent wisely Corporate Procurement delivers value for money by:

  • improving services
  • reducing costs
  • simplifying processes
  • increasing collaborative opportunities
  • ensuring compliance
  • reducing risk.

Collaborative Contracts

We work with public sector procurement specialists Scotland Excel [opens in a new window] (Category B Contracts) and Scottish Procurement [opens in a new window] (Category A Contracts) on collaborative opportunities to aggregate public sector spend in order to provide best value and value for money.

Local Contracts

Additional one-off or framework contracts (Category C Contracts) are agreed between the Council and suppliers, as a result of in-house tenders. Sometimes these may be completed in partnership with another council (Category C1 Contracts).

Council Procurement Documentation

Council employees are required to follow Council policies when procuring goods and services - see the Documents section for reference.
