The Council has prepared a series of town centre strategies for Bearsden, Bishopbriggs and Milngavie, providing further information and detail on policies set out in the adopted Local Development Plan (LDP). These strategies are the result of extensive public consultation and joint working with key town centre stakeholders, a process which began in November 2016. Work towards a strategy for Kirkintilloch will follow once all actions relating to the Kirkintilloch Masterplan have been completed.
The documents set out a vision, along with specific objectives and actions intended to improve the health and vitality of each town centre. They form the basis of a long-term approach for future interventions which reflect the shared aspirations of all partners and communities.
