Local Proclamation Arrangements

Following the sad news of the death of Her Majesty, The Queen Elizabeth II, Provost Gillian Renwick will deliver the local Proclamation at 2pm at Kilmardinny House, Bearsden, on Sunday 11 September.HRH Queen Elizabeth II

Consistent with Protocol, the local Proclamation takes place following the Proclamation in Scotland at the Merkat in Edinburgh at noon the same day. In addition to the Provost’s invited guests, members of the public are welcome to attend the East Dunbartonshire Proclamation.

Parking at Kilmardinny House will be restricted to invited guests only and there will be no parking on the section of Kilmardinny Avenue in front of Kilmardinny House (between the two access points to Kilmardinny Crescent). This section of road will also be closed to public vehicular access from noon on Sunday. Members of the public planning to attend, are encouraged to be on site for 1.45pm.

There is guidance on the Royal Family website for the public and businesses on the period of national mourning following the demise of Her Majesty, and anyone who wishes to sign the official book of condolence can also do so on the Royal Family website.
