Lights, camera, Christmas – Kirky Picture Palace has unveiled the films on offer in the coming weeks after a triumphant return to its original home.
Cinematic magic is back at Kirkintilloch Town Hall, courtesy of Your Kirky (aka Kirkintilloch Community Council) – supported by East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture Trust.
As well as screenings of the latest blockbusters and festive favourites, there will be special dementia-friendly and baby-friendly events too.

Doors open 15 minutes before screenings, and there will be snacks and refreshments available to purchase. Tickets cost £5 (adults) and £3 (children) – available from Create ED (46 Cowgate, Kirkintilloch)

Serina Marshall, the Kirky Picture Palace's Cinema Co-ordinator, said, "It's fantastic to be back home in Kirkintilloch Town Hall, where our magical movie adventures first began in October 2019.
"As well as blockbusters like Elemental and the latest instalment of the action-packed Mission: Impossible franchise, we're delighted to be showing a selection box of festive favourites – as chosen by our patrons.
"Many thanks to all our volunteers – without whom we couldn't run these popular events. If you have a passion for the pictures and want to join the team, please get in touch. We hope the community continues to support their cinema, which many people asked for as part of our consultations in recent years."
Councillor Jim Gibbons, Chair of East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture Trust – which operates Kirkintilloch Town Hall, said, "It's great to see such a wide range of films, including Christmas classics, being shown at the town hall. I'm particularly pleased screenings have also been organised which are dementia and baby friendly.
"Kirkintilloch Town Hall is now fully operational again and the diary is already filling up with a range of community events and classes. The Heritage Centre is also open to the public (Monday to Friday, 10am-4pm)."
