People power has helped to shape a five-year plan for arts, heritage, libraries, leisure and sport in East Dunbartonshire.
Customers, clubs, residents, organisations, partners and employees took part in consultation carried out by East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture Trust (EDLCT) last year.
More than 1,000 responses were received – all of which helped to guide the creation of the Culture, Leisure and Sport Strategy 2026-2031.
The aim is to ensure that EDLCT continues to deliver first-class facilities, services and opportunities – evolving, enhancing and improving wherever possible.
An online StoryMap has been created to provide accessible information.
Alan Wright, Chair of EDLCT Board, said, "The strategy was developed and approved following extensive consultation with local residents, members, clubs, partners and organisations. Thanks to everyone who took part.
"The many responses helped us to develop our Vision, Mission Statement and Strategic Objectives, ensuring they are meaningful to our customers, partners, workforce and funders.
"EDLCT continues its work to provide wide-reaching benefits, however, it's important to note that this strategy is being published against the backdrop of an ongoing cost-of-living crisis and financial challenges across national and local government.
"This plan seeks to meet those challenges and to focus resources – realising the greatest benefits possible for the people of East Dunbartonshire.”

EDLCT provides a range of facilities and services for recreational, sporting and cultural pursuits – accessible to all – including:

- Community Sport
- Active Schools
