Have your say on wheely exciting plans for a new outdoor community Pump Track facility in Twechar.

The Council held a community consultation - delivered by Green Action Trust (GAT) – last year and the response was overwhelmingly positive in favour of the creation of a pump track facility in the vicinity of the Twechar Healthy Living & Enterprise Centre.

A pump track is a purpose-built track for cycling. It has a circuit of ramps and turns designed to be ridden by riders "pumping" or generating momentum by body movements, instead of pedalling or pushing.

Pump tracks can be designed to suit both inexperienced riders as well as those with experience who can use BMX bikes, mountain bikes and scooters.

A drop-in event has been organised to give residents an opportunity to view the designs and vote for their favourite.

Councillor Paul Ferretti, Convener of the Council’s Place, Neighbourhood & Corporate Assets Committee, said, “We took on-board the feedback we got in the consultation and we’re now looking for the people of Twechar’s help to decide on the winning design.

“To ensure we are offering the highest standard of quality and choice to the community, we are presenting a variety of design options to residents.

“Each of the choices are designed to be challenging and exciting and will cater to all skill levels.

“I’d encourage residents of all ages to drop in, have a look at the proposed pump track designs and cast a vote for their favourite.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape a vibrant new space for riders in Twechar.

Whether you’re a keen rider, a parent, or simply interested in what’s planned for the area, we’d love to hear your thoughts as we want as many people as possible to take part and have their say on what’s eventually constructed.
