Thursday 10 September is the first ever Scottish Employability Day, a national initiative to celebrate and promote employment support, skills development, and pathways into work.
In the run up to the day, our Skills for Learning, Life and Work Team is running events across the area for anyone who is looking for support to move into work or training. The team can help with job search techniques, interview skills, CV building, access to funding, information on trainee roles and various training opportunities.
Why not pop along to one of our informal employability drop-in sessions for a chat and a cuppa and to find out what support is available. Our friendly staff are here to help.

Councillor Lynda Williamson, Convener of the Council’s Education Committee said,
If you are looking to get into work or training for the first time in a while or you’ve lost your job and would like to discuss your next steps then these sessions are for you.
“It can be daunting to take that first step. You may feel out of touch with the world of work and training, you may not have looked at your CV in a long time or perhaps you don’t know how to juggle work with your other priorities.
“Our friendly staff can help at these informal sessions. They can answer your questions and let you know about initiatives and support you didn’t know were out there. I’d encourage anyone in this position to give it a go or drop the team an email to get things started. You won’t regret it.”
