Councillor Gordan Low, Leader of East Dunbartonshire Council, said, “Many thanks to everyone who has already taken the time to visit our website, fill in a survey or attend a drop-in session. There is still time to find out more and help to shape the final Climate Action Plan.
“COP30 might be taking place in Brazil, involving countries from around the globe, but local support, guidance and action is vital.
Following a summer of record temperatures, wildfires and droughts – across Scotland and the UK – having your say on climate action has never been more important.
The draft CAP outlines how East Dunbartonshire Council will not only meet its local emissions and adaptation targets, but also how it can deliver co-benefits for communities, including increased investment, cleaner air, better health and fresh job opportunities.
It builds on a strong track record of emissions reduction across the Council’s operations and East Dunbartonshire as a whole.
