Businesses and landowners are being invited to find out more about fresh funding which aims to help unlock key economic opportunities in East Dunbartonshire.
Site Enabling Regeneration Fund grants are being made available by the Council as part of a pilot scheme to support the development of land in the:
- Kirkintilloch Business Gateway area
- Westerhill Regeneration Area, Bishopbriggs.
Funding can also be sought to support redevelopment at locations which are identified within the Local Development Plan for business use and town centre sites.
The aim of the grants is to boost investment in these areas, both from the private sector and external sources, by assisting developments involving landowners and/or tenant businesses.
It is hoped the funding can help to create long-term, sustainable employment and unlock the potential of under-used/derelict sites.
“I would encourage landowners and businesses to visit our grant webpage – for guidance, eligibility criteria and information on how to apply.”
The Masterplans for Kirkintilloch Business Gateway and the Westerhill Regeneration Area reflect the business/employment requirements of the Local Development Plan.
The aim is to create deliverable frameworks for development which help the Council and landowners to work together in partnership.
Successful applications for sites under 1,000 square metres could secure an 80% grant up to a maximum of £10,000, while sites over 1,000 square metres could be awarded an 80% grant up to a maximum of £25,000.
The amount of overall funding available is subject to available support and will be under regular review.
