On Tuesday 28 April, the Council will mark International Workers’ Memorial Day.

Each year we recognise this day, remembering those who have lost their lives at work, or from work related injury or illness.

As part of the Council’s commemorations, the flags at our Southbank Marina HQ will fly at half-mast on the day.

A commemorative event at the Cadder Pit memorial Cairn at Bishopbriggs Library & Hub will also be held. Council Leader Gordan Low will be joined for the wreath-laying event at 11am by fellow Councillors, representatives from the Trades Unions and Community Planning Partnership.

Any employee who would like to attend should seek approval from their line manager beforehand.

If you are unable to attend but would like to mark the occasion, you can participate in a one-minute silence at 12 noon.

Thank you,

Ann Davie
Chief Executive
