You may have seen the news over the last 24 hours that there is serious threat to websites across the world due to a global cyber-security issue.

ICT Services were notified of the issue yesterday and have been following the advice of the Scottish Cyber Co-ordination Centre, the National Cyber Security Centre and our third party suppliers.

We can confirm that the websites for the Council, Health and Social Care Partnership and East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture Trust are not affected, but some hosted pages such as the planning portal will remain offline until their security is confirmed.

ICT Services are continuing to work through all of the Council's systems both on premise and in the cloud to determine if any are vulnerable.

In line with the guidance given, several services which are public facing have been taken offline temporarily, while we await confirmation from our suppliers if their systems are affected. It is possible that services which colleagues use will be affected and taken offline by the supplier while their investigations continue.

Affected services have been told of this directly and we will ensure everyone is kept updated if any further disruption is caused.

Thank you,

Jamie Robertson
Executive Officer, Finance and Digital Services
