In accordance with our standard approach to recruitment for Executive Officer roles, an overview of the recruitment and selection process for the latest vacancies is detailed below.  Applications are invited for the following roles:

Customer Services & Organisational Development

Role: Executive Officer – Customer Services & Organisational Development
Grade: Grade 16 (Subject to job evaluation review)
Reporting to: Depute Chief Executive

Roads & Neighbourhood Services

Role: Executive Officer – Roads & Neighbourhood Services
Grade: Grade 16 (Subject to job evaluation review)
Reporting to: Depute Chief Executive

Recruitment & Selection Process Overview

Consistent with our internal recruitment processes for Senior Leadership roles, an overview of the recruitment and selection process for each of these roles is as detailed below:

Application process

Prospective candidates will be required to submit:

  • ·A relevant CV (not EDC application form);
  • Statement in support of application demonstrating suitability for the role they are applying for and,
  • A written submission to a set question.

 Closing Date: 5pm on Friday 25 August 2023

Short-listing Process

Short-listing process will be conducted by the Chief Executive and Depute Chief Executive.

Candidate submissions will be assessed against:

  • The role profile,
  • A competency assessment of the supporting statement and,
  • Defined criteria to assess the set question response.

 Candidates will be shortlisted and invited to a final interview with the Chief Executive and Depute Chief Executive.

Interview process

 

Competency based interview conducted by the Chief Executive and Depute Chief Executive.

The interview will incorporate a presentation from the candidate on a pre-set topic.

Selection Process

Selection decisions will be made based on the assessment of:

  • CV,
  • Support statement demonstrating suitability for role,
  • Written response to set question,
  • Quality of presentation, and
  • Performance through interview process.
