In preparation for the migration of shared mailboxes to Outlook, it has been identified that some shared mailbox addresses reference the same shared mailbox.
For example, mail addressed to customerservices@eastdunbarton.gov.uk and contact.centre@eastdunbarton.gov.uk both go to the Customer Services mailbox. IBM Notes allows both to be in the address book and go to the same mailbox, however Outlook does not.
Therefore, the below shared mailbox display names noted in blue will be removed from the address book as part of the migration. Following their removal, if you need to send mail to any of these mailboxes, the display name noted in black should be used.
The email addresses in blue will still be valid and any mail sent to these will be delivered to the correct mailbox (the black email address). However, you will not be able to find the display name in the internal address book.
There may be scope for a future exercise to rationalise shared mailboxes further, including accommodating any name changes. This would involve consultation with services and we will contact shared mailbox owners about this in due course.
Many thanks,
