Important announcement

Unforeseen operational resource challenges over the weekend mean that our food waste collection service is suspended today, Monday 3 November.

If your food waste bin was due to be emptied today, please take in your bin and present on the next collection day, Monday 10 November.

Green bin collections in a small number of streets in the Lenzie, Kirkintilloch and Bearsden area are also affected. If your green bin has not been emptied today, please leave it on the kerbside for collection tomorrow, Tuesday 4 November.

Our teams will be working hard to minimise the impact, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

ICT Projects are typically large pieces of planned work that have a high impact on the business.

Visit the Project, incident or change page to get a further definition of types of work.

As you would expect ICT receive many requests for work. To assist in the allocation of resources the following prioritisation method, derived from best practice, has been agreed:

  • Through the service planning process Departments identify projects that require some level of input from ICT
  • A high level business case is developed outlining the business goals, costs, risks etc. A one page Business Case Form exists for this
  • ICT complete the second part of the business case form to estimate ICT effort, identify any hardware or licence requirements and evaluate any risks. A flowchart exists to assist with this. This helps determine if the work should go ahead, if the level of work involved is a project (and requires PRINCE2 Lite) or if a Change Request is sufficient
  • Assuming the work is to go ahead the business case is shared with the ICT Steering Group for agreement of priority. Once agreed a project record is created in Covalent and the project resources, timescales etc are assigned.
  • Progress in delivery of the project will be provided by the project manager

If you are not sure if the piece of work you require is a project or not please review the guidance notes here or if you have a project that needs to be considered raise it with your line manager in the first instance. They can then ensure it is added to the departmental project lists for prioritisation.
