Provost’s Christmas Foodbank Appeal – Last day for donations is Friday 13 December
As outlined in Employee News 36 last week, my annual Christmas appeal is once again focused on the local foodbank.
Collection boxes have been placed at various buildings and many of you have already donated – a huge thanks for that!
There is still time if you’d like to contribute as we will collect all the items this Friday (13 December). If you prefer you can donate via Paypal by visiting the East Dunbartonshire Foodbank website.
You’ll find collection boxes here:
- Broomhill – back door (employee entrance)
- Broomhill – bothy (kitchen)
- Southbank Marina – reception
- Southbank House - reception
- Hilton Depot – operational canteen
- Kirkintilloch Health & Care Centre – 1st floor outside the break room
- Bishopbriggs, Kirkintilloch and Lennoxtown Community Hubs and the three Leisure Centres (staff areas).
A reminder of the items that are most in demand:
- Tinned vegetables such as peas, sweetcorn, carrots
- Tinned meats (easy to reheat) such as curry, stew, casserole, chilli
- Tinned beans and pulses such as kidney beans, chickpeas, lentils
- Tinned soups, spaghetti hoops, ravioli
- Pasta sauces
- Coffee, jam, rice pudding, tinned fruit, long life milk and cartons of fruit juice that can be stored in cupboards until opened
- Cooking oils
- Microwaveable pouches such as rice, grains, couscous, lentils
- Meals that can be made using just the kettle such as noodles, rice pots and soups.
A Christmas treat such as chocolate would also be welcomed.
Thanks for all your support now and in the past. All donations for those struggling are much appreciated.
Thank you,
Provost Gillian Renwick
