    This Technical Note will be published on the Council’s website following circulation to Members. Its contents may be disclosed or shared out with the Council.

  • The purpose of this Technical Note is to update Elected Members on the anticipated project timetable for the Westerton Primary School Project
  • On 5 March 2026 the Council approved the 10-year Capital Investment Plan report EDC/001/26/AD, allocating £3m to complete all pre-construction activities for the proposed new Westerton Primary School.  Officers are in the process of finalising the procurement arrangements required to formally appoint a design team and managing contractor for the project

  • Initial stakeholder engagement will be undertaken with education stakeholders and the general public in September/October 2026, with further engagement thereafter undertaken in-line with key design development milestones and planning application milestones
  • Members should note the dates at Section 3 above remain indicative and subject to change with a particular dependency on the timing of the appointment of the design team and managing contractor.  Construction start date is dependent upon Council approval to proceed to contract close
  • Regular updates on the project, including any changes to the anticipated project programme, will be communicated via the General Fund Capital monitoring report submitted to the Policy & Resources Committee
