    This Technical Note will be published on the Council’s website following circulation to Members. Its contents may be disclosed or shared out with the Council.

  • The purpose of this Technical Note is to update Elected Members on work associated with the Bishopbriggs Town Centre Civic Space project that is part of the Council’s City Deal Programme
  • On 18th December 2025 Council approved report EDC/055/25/DG and draft Full Business Case (FBC) for construction of the Civic Space located between the Triangle and St Matthews’ Church.  The FBC was approved by Glasgow City Region February 2026
  • The Council is leasing the site on a long-term lease (175 years) from Morrisons and will deliver a major public realm improvement in the town centre
  • The contractor Luddon was selected at the end of 2025, and now the FBC has been approved, were formally appointed in March 2026. Site-based activities are expected to start during May 2026. Initial works will consist of trial excavations and fencing off the site area
  • Construction is currently programmed to complete December 2026.
